30 teams passed on him at half price. I think his NHL days are limited and it will be for a million or less. - VANTEL
When Perry gets a deal anything is possible. Old & washed up vs a cheap gamble.

Wasn't hindsight for me at all. I said that whole summer giving him a deal over 2 years 2 mil would be a big mistake. Voila. |

On Marleau...
Closing in on Howe for most career games played. Who would offer him a contract? Baertschi is easily less risk for a few teams. |

Another way making it possible to get TT is LTIR. When have Canucks started a season when all of Roussel Ferland Edler Tanev Eriksson Sven and Sutter were all healthy to start the season .
You can easily work Sutter and Loui in and out of the lineup with injuries. |

LTIR starts after day 1. Have to do some nifty shuffling with the cap. |

You can be 10 % over in the summer but day one Sutter (example) is injured and not on the roster for day one they they meet the requirements.

Secondly, a player can be placed on LTIR during the off-season and prior to the start of the regular season. ... The team will be allowed to go over the cap by the amount of the cap hit of the player placed on LTIR minus the amount of cap space they had prior to the LTIR assignment.

Other ploy is paper players to Utica then recall for a 23 roster. Can run a 21 or 22 roster to accumulate cap space like the Leafs had to. |

Yes but go look up Pridham & how he exploited the loop hole to further complete that. That above doesn’t complete the picture. What happens if a player comes off LTIR? If not enough LTIR is accumulated who is demoted & risk waivers? I’ve been through this twice in the Leafs blog & was straightened out both times but I’m missing something. |

Would you care if Loui or Sutter risked waivers? |

Baertschi is a guy that will cost you assets to get rid of, something the Canucks are in short supply of. Not a good situation to be in. Let him play in the “A” and ride out his contract. - Pacificgem
If a bunch of teams need to shed salary to become compliant or to fill other needs then these costs will rise. I agree, it will likely be best to ride out the bad deals. However, moving a contract like LE's with little cost and a high cap hit might become easier to swallow for some teams that need to reach the floor. |

Yup, at a very high cost. Cumbersome contracts and picks & prospects out the door.
Two fantastic picks dropped in his lap, though. - Marwood

Hey you said you bought some boxes of the ProV1X's were they the 'left dash' ones?
Aparently they make a 'left dash' version which flies higher but has the lower spin of the AVX ball...I might try a box of those left dash Pro V1X's and see. The AVX is great off the tee but iron play, chipping and putting are hit/miss... |
