Ya it sucks the way George Floyd died...but no one (especially media) seems to report that he had 8 felony charges and threatened to kill a pregnant woman with a knife...that's no big deal lol.

Innocent until proven guilty. That's the law unless you're a cop I guess. Then you're allowed to be judge and jury on the spot and usher in the death penalty.

This isn't just about George Floyd, he's just a trigger. I know I was pulled over once because we had a black passenger, not sure if that applies to anyone else. Yes, that was in Canada.

I also remember often having to flag down taxis in NYC for black people as they wouldn't stop for them on their own. Many were angry with me at the time, but i'd simply take cash from one's hand and hand it to the other as a guarantee. Amazing they couldn't sort this out on their own. Of course, I still had the privilege of being a blond haired/blue eyed individual which has rarely been subject to prejudice.

If you grew up in a very poor hood, you would be subject to it white or non white.

This is what happens when we let the media set the police abuse narrative. It becomes a race matter over everything else and sets us against each other. If you actually combine all the numbers of people abused and murdered by the police.... the thing in common by a massive margin is that these people are poor or live in a poor community... not skin color. Only being outraged over a smaller exclusive portion of these numbers protects the abusers. Media is great at protecting the power structure with a divide and conquer strategy.

I'm not a minority but I was beat bad by cops when I was 15. Broken ribs, broken fingers and a testicle as big as a grapefruit. I watched my mother beat by cops. I watched my friends beat by cops... I watched my friends family beat by cops. None of it was necessary. Meanwhile this same 55 Div in Toronto had the Beaches in their east side and I watched the police handle domestic and disturbing the peace calls with kid gloves there. I talk about living in poopty hoods as a child but I actually went to school in the beaches between grade 3 and 8. I had friends who had the same a comparable issues at home that involved police. I know first hand of class prejudice and being white did not get you a break if you lived on the other side of the tracks...
