I would say Mikey D is better already than Demko.

Rick D said no one year deal but Imac said Tanev told him there could be a short term deal. Who do you believe.

I believe Tanev's agent to Chris to zip it

2 years at 5 per is my guess. Marky I think will go 4 at 4.75-5. Toffoli I think goes 1 @5per but will resign long term once he realizes playing with Petey for the next few years will add a ton of goals and $$$$$.

Agents if you remember took some risks once the cap came in that cost players a lot of time and money, players are more involved now than even 10 yrs ago.

Give this kid about two to three more years he will be a great pick .

I also seen a comparison to Hossa and Landeskog. My comparison would be Hertl.

I think Hoglander will make the team next year for a few reasons and Podkolzen the next year. Hope they both have really big years.

Podz is a nice player, quick and shifty, he at this stage, reminds me of kucherov.... before anyone knew who Kucherov was

lol he does have a mean streak it just seems he doesn't snap. He's very strong, watch him protect the puck. I like the Landeskog comparison, he's a bit heavier but he seems to welcome contact, that I like.

Completely different playing style imo. Podz is more of a power forward style, hard on the puck/boards but with nice passing/shot to compliment im his bulldozer style. If anything, he’s like OV i would say but not near the same shot.

Yeah, i like the physicality side as well.

Does anyone know if he's more of a playmaker or goal scorer?
Off the rush take it in myself kinda guy or wait for the one-timer?

I don't understand why he keeps getting compared to the games most offensively skilled forwards based on physical play. There are literally dozens of dozens of physical players of his style in the NHL that are not offensive dynamos but he doesnt get mentioned in the same sentence as his most likely compatibles... just names like OV, Kucherov, Landeskog. I know people are not projecting their point and goal totals but it still seems odd that those are the names they come up with in a league bursting at the seams with comparables that play in the middle six.

Because he was drafted to be a top 6 difference maker, not a middle six fill in player.

I think you're looking at this guy to be a physical 20+ goal scorer from the beginning.

Very often he carries the puck down the wing until he is too deep for a pass or runs out of space/angle to make his shot.... often crashing into the goalie. I like when he goes in the corner or along the boards after the puck though. He seems to be better at that than playing on the rush.

I was more referring to his play at the world jrs, watching him carry the puck up the middle and undress the Canadians. But watching him play against the Canadians again just now , he is strong on the boards and defensively aware enough to box guys out. Imo, he might slide in nicely with Horvat in the future.

I'm looking... or you're looking?

I know what I think. I think he's going to need time to be a offensive player for the Canucks but I think his game gets him on the team in a 4rth line role immediately at the very least. His game is ready for that absolutely.

Green would probably put him with Horvat unless he starts scoring early then it would be 4rth line duty and probably LE or Macewin beside Horvat leaving everyone saying wtf for the rest of the season.

I noticed a couple of things about Hoglander and Podkolzin, they both are good in traffic and creating openings for teammates by drawing defenders. Neither guy backs down from contact at all. I think they will be a couple of very good players for us.

Dipietro's good rookie season was over shadowed by many things including Hughes and the Canucks playoff race down the stretch and players like Rafferty getting a lot of looks. The only thing Demko has on him in my opinion is size. That isnt insignificant by any means but Dipietro is not behind where Demko was and is doing it at a younger age.

I like both Demko and Dipietro.

Too lazy to look it up, but I feel like Demko played behind a worse team, making his numbers more impressive.

Dipietro 20 yrs old in his rookie season.

Demko was 22 I think after years in college hockey.

That seems to me a little more impressive regardless of the team in front of the two.

Lets see where Dipietro's development is at 22 or 23 before we judge who is having a better AHL career.

Dr Henry and Horgan have sent letters to Parliament saying they are comfortable with group quarantine allowing players to go directly to practicing as long as conditions are met.

the canucks should be ashamed of themselves for how they treated anson carter. they should issue a public apology, their owner and front office should get on his knee and they should make a HUGE donation to BLM/NAACP. they should also make it right and write anson a huge check as part of their apology..
