A funny story about a pic with my face covered. I used a pic of me fishing in Mexico as a profile/user image for a strategy game. It was just a head shot but I had a buff over my face to protect me from the sun and a brand name fishing hat on. The Buff was white with small trout flies printed on it. Someone complained and the game mods took it down. When I asked for an explanation to why, they told me they dont condone terrorism and if I try and put another image like it up, I'll be banned.

Sounds like a few of our knee jerkers here.

I don’t get it. Also, which strategy game

Give this kid about two to three more years he will be a great pick .

I also seen a comparison to Hossa and Landeskog. My comparison would be Hertl.

I think Hoglander will make the team next year for a few reasons and Podkolzen the next year. Hope they both have really big years.

Dangit, i did not see this before i posted my “bold prediction”. Oh well, they are both fairly bold.

That would be something.

I think Toffoli stays.

How do we afford him? Why would he take anything but max value? Is it even possible to make max in Canada?

Neem. This pic here but I thought I had a different buff over my face. I cropped it so there was no background. They thought I posted a pic of a jihadist.

The game was Storm Castle or something like that. It was poop and run by morons so I left. Conflict of Nations is 100% better for that kind of game format.

What dollar figure do you think he is looking for? I think 5 mil which this year will be a very good offer.

Hopefully Baertchi and Tanev gone...move a few more pieces around all good. Doesn't appear Tanev will go home town discount on a one year deal. Would rather keep Toffoli than have Tanev here...and I like Tanev just too high risk on a long term contract.

I listened to Brian Burke yesterday, and he said it's crazy to think we go ahead with a flat cap unless players agree to 35-40% escrow. I believe in a normal FA season he would be in the 6m range. That said you won't see huge salaries this off season so we have a decent chance to re-sign him.

Tanev understands his risk of injury and why he wont go for a short term discount and also why he played though all of his injuries for the first time ever setting him up for his final contract.

I don’t know. Maybe if they do some league wide one (compliance buyout) or whatever. Even with a buyout(someone will be) we still are fairly strung. Id think Marky is priority number one, but im just spitballing. With Tanevs latest comments and his agent trying to not lose leverage, i think he stays and on a good price/term. It’s possibleToffoli gets more than 5 elsewhere, particularly with hiw he played for us and if he has a good playoffs.

I think so too.

I think Tanev also realizes Leafs wont be offering him 5 mil either and I think he would like t play here or there.

With the 35-40 % escrow ( which I think is accurate) I don't see Eriksson wanting to play in Utica next year for 600 K

I am surprised there has not been more but I did see a sign from a bunch of store owners yesterday saying if you loot our business we will shoot you.

Marky has to be 1st priority of all the re-signings. Otherwise they have to go and sign another starter and I doubt they will find better value without putting a substandard netminder in the crease for the next couple of seasons. Demko is not ready. Money on a UFA will most likely be money poorly spent.

Nucker wanted us to go with Demko next season but I only remember him saying that before Marky's injury and Demko's poor showing when the pressure was on him to be the #1. I wonder if he still feels that way.

Rick D said no one year deal but Imac said Tanev told him there could be a short term deal. Who do you believe.

I believe Tanev's agent to Chris to zip it

Much easier to sign a back up and run with Marky until Dipietro is ready if Benning is looking to use assets for something. In spite of what people think, there are a few assets they can afford to move.

Exactly . Recover an asset You can re-sign Domingue for 800 K and when Mikey D is ready swap them

Dipietro may not even be a NHL player. Demko just needs more time. He’s going nowhere.

Demko may never be a starter.

Situation remains,,, re-sign Marky or sign a UFA. I think they get better value on the re-signing.

I think it will be Marky Toffoli,Tanev Jake(at a very small raise 1.4maybe?) and the young guys like Zack and Hoglander to fill out the rest. If agents are being smart and proactive with clients like Jake they will tell them to sign and make it hard on the team with your performance as RFA's for sure are going to be the ones who take a big hit.
