This

Larkin is great but that package is insane for a player with only 3 years left who has 11 more total points in the last 2 seasons over Reinhart

- Stripes77

and we don't have the wingers or prospects for a 2 year window

My target teams would be Arizona, St. Louis, Tampa, Chicago, Toronto. Tampa always seems to find away, but this year could be tougher with only 15 contracts signed and a little over 2mill to do it, Sergachev will take that and more.
- Buff36

I don't see them moving their younger players like Point, Sergachev, Cirelli, nor Cernak.
It would some a couple of their older guys IMO; Palat, Gourde, Johnson, Kilorn, Coburn.
They will probably need to package some prospects along with a few to make them more attractive. The various combinations of AVV, Term and age for each of those guys doesn't appeal to me however. Killorn is the exception.

Larkin untouchable for them, he's their Eichel. They would want Eichel delt in the package as well. I don't think Detroit would even do Larkin for Dahlin straight up.

Maybe you offer sam straight up for larkin?

Tell detroit he was picked to be a center and just hasn't had the opportunity?

The prospect pipeline would be hurt for sure.

However, in the context of my whole roster surgery presented in the post that started this discussion, that proposed roster would be SC ready with young, good talent

Olo - 24 yo
Skinner - 26
Eichel- 23
Tuch - 24
Anderson - 26
Larkin- 23
Kahun - 24
Cozens - 20
Lazar - 25

Depth would be an issue for callups

Yes they always seem to pull something out, but they will have to move a lot then because Cernak, Cirelli and Sergachev are all RFA so it will be interesting to see what they do. I would call to see what they are willing to do for are 1st this year.

It would be hurt not devastated though, we shall see what happens but you still have Weissbach, Pekar,Glotiv, Davidsson, Cederquist ,Rusto, with a few others coming.

How, that's the thing we don't know what we have, these kids could turn into something or they might not. But what has Tage or Mitts done to not be looked at in the same way or used in a package that could make us better. Could it hurt us, yes it could. But the system isn't as drained as it was 3 to 5 yrs ago. I am in no way saying we should use all are prospects to make trades, but Mitts and Tage have done nothing to say no to a trade.

Cute. Meanwhile, the Oilers moved Drisitil off of McDavids wing this year and now Leon is gonna win the Hart Trophy... Taking notes yet?

Yet the Sabres are on the golf course with Eichel discontent... They have 6 years to win a Cup before he walks out of town for nothing..and they can't fathom where to find a #2 after trading Oriley for a bag of pucks. And you want to stay the course? Real smart lol.

Unless Botterill is going to turn into the greatest GM of all time in terms of finding quality undrafted players and trading 5th round or lower picks for hidden gem forwards, the group he listed absolutely would be classified as devastated.

Ok, and how does anyone know that. Just like we new so much about Mitts. Every prospect is a crap shot out of the top 5 or 10 taken in,the draft most times. Not that it will happen, but if I have a chance to get Larkin, a bona-fide C, and I have to throw 1 of Mitts or Tage in to make it happen, I do that all day.

i'm not sure what the numbers were 5v5 but those two weren't a pair on a penalty kill that destroyed their season...a .727 kill rate between the dates listed prior and hutton with a .798 sv% with buffalo shorthanded...plus he also allowed five shorthanded goals on 18 shots against for a .722 sv%...talk about deflating

edit:

to be fair, while shorthanded Ullmark had a .829 sv% while Johansson clocked in at .833

Here we go.
If the concern is depleting the prospect pipeline

Rhino, Risto, rights to Pilut
For
Larkin

Even if we made that trade for Larkin, the one you proposed earlier, you can still use are over abundance of D to replenish the forward prospects. I would think you would be able to get some in return for Risto or Montour, even Miller or McCabe.

If only the Pegulas would realize they shouldn't be in the day to day operations of the club...
