This is misleading. The Sabres still own his rights. The Sabres will not be playing hockey for a minimum of another six months. Even if they wanted to trade him, they can only currently trade him to one of six teams. That severely limits the market. He could very well play in the KHL until January, and then come back to Buffalo, or a team that trades for him later.

Yeah, isn't the corn-fed-erate flag technically a flag of a (wannabe) "foreign nation"? If not, it's at least definitely the flag representing traitors to the United States, isn't it? I guess its' still being flown was tolerated to try to smooth over old wounds lingering from the Civil War, to try to help the southern states that tried to destroy the Union feel "welcome" again? I can fully understand why a black person would fukking hate the sight of that flag. I hear some boys say it's "our heritage, not hate" but before the civil war, their flag was the Stars and Stripes, wasn't it? When Dahlen went down...Pilut slides in rather than playing Montour on his off side.
And when Scandella was moved, he plays there.

Mike, it was bad asset management from Botts, not limited to when Pilut was called up...rather the whole roster construction...and THAT is the point.

Pilut underwent shoulder surgery and btw, it was the second time in his pro career that he had shoulder surgery...

I can maybe get on board with being misled, dependent upon the conversation(s), but here's the thing, many on here think he should have been on the team based upon style of play and selective analytics...

however, like someone mentioned, and I fully agree with, the league figured him out and he lost his effectiveness as the season (s) went on...and I also added that last year he faded and attributed that to not having proper off season training because of his recovery...

it seems as if many here feel he would have "moved the needle" in a bottom-pairing/reserve role when his performance outside of early appearances did not warrant more than that role if it even warranted that...because of it, the best thing for him and hus development was Rochester...

Even if you make those moves to make room for him, it doesn't change any of the above...he did well, but not well enough to move the needle...
