Carol Schram: Big hurdles still stand between NHL & its July 10 training camp start date
If all goes well, 24 NHL teams will officially open their training camps in four weeks' time. But between now and then, hub cities must be chosen — and Vancouver is still in the mix. Also, money issues must be settled with players. A potential CBA extension is on the table.
The reason Dr Henry approved the request was because all standards were met and even went above and beyond the call of requirements. She repeated a few times the number 50 in the parties and bringing family into the bubble will bring the numbers over 50
I think it is some posturing going on with the agreement and the CBA. Baseball is looking to open a new season to no fans and gates. The owners are pissed and I don't think will put up with much.
The NHL is trying to finish off a season . The owners took a huge loss and are trying to get back some lost revenue .
I think it is in the best interest of the PA to work closely and listen to the owners or the owners may very well turn around and say we will see everybody when a vaccine is available to the public and nail a 50% escrow to the players to split losses.

I think owners do have all the power right now. - VANTEL
I don’t think so. In particular instances, I think some owners saved money.
Thanks Carol, re: the money, I’m wondering about the seven teams not participating in the playoffs. Will the teams receive some share of the revenue, and will those players receive the same economic benefit as the players who are still working?

For the overall health of the league and the CBA, I would think so
Judging by some of Kane’s comments it doesn’t really matter what timeline is negotiated, the players still get the final say and would have to ratify it. So depending on families being allowed and how safe they feel it could still be voted down.
Also I wonder what would happen if 2 games into play all of a sudden Elias, Brock, Quinn, Markstrom and 8 other players test positive due to someone delivering their food or something having it. Does that disqualify the Canucks? Do they shut down that series? Does another team bump into their place, or do they run with their remaining 12 players?

To make it fair for everyone they should cancel the playoffs and focus on the next few years.

I’m getting the feeling that the NHL is doing all this playoff “planning” just to keep relevant. Deep down they know it’s going to be very difficult to pull this off. With the covid numbers going back up it would be crazy to start without understanding the risks of exacerbating this situation further.

I think the only way to successfully do it is to quarantine an entire small town in Alberta or Manitoba or North Dakota that has a few rinks to play in. No one can leave, no one can enter after a specific date, and the whole town goes through with it with the teams.

It’s much more likely that a player, or player’s family breaks the bubble and brings in the virus than a little Caesar’s delivery driver.

That was Dr Henry's rules that if a player gets it the team needs t be isolated . That same rule probably wont apply in Vegas
A Toronto cop was just charged in a human trafficking investigation. No, he wasnt white... just another piece of poop wearing a badge and abusing people. They come in all shades of color.
