I actually agree that a reform in policing is needed...but this defund the police movement is beyond stupidity. But not surprising considering the people who are supporting the narratives behind it. What do the People want? Private security firms doing the policing it would be ten times worse. Unreal. - LordHumungous
I am actually curious, have you read much about what they mean when they say "defund the police"? The vast majority don't want to disband the police, and no one wants another policing force to take over in lieu of. Your assumption that's what they mean is part of the problem.
I think a lot of these protests are trying to point out what I'm interpreting from you: that people aren't taking the time to educate themselves on the history of oppression and systemic racism, to understand what they're actually talking about (much like Kapernick with his kneeling), and making an actual effort to deal with uncomfortable conversations.
In short, "defunding the police" means taking some of the money away from the police budget, and redirecting that to more community-based organizations and responses. Police are vastly overwhelmed dealing with every situation, severely under-educated in North America, and have a built up narrative around being a hero/life-in-imminent-danger. From my understanding, people want the communities to be better built up to deal with problems before they bloom into issues that have to be dealt with by the police (housing, schooling, general poverty, mental health issues, etc.) and when issues do arise like mental health issues, it's not necessarily the police coming with guns on the hip, it's mental health professionals that can deescalate the situation and provide help for those people.

Not disagreeing. It was a joke question intended to point out people’s prejudice as Arabic numerals are the current standard for virtually everyone, but as it turns out, most people don’t know it. I didn’t realize it until a couple weeks ago when my wife asked me the same question, and I’ve seen it asked on social media (twitter) for the same reason, to point out certain people’s ignorance. I apologize, I thought this had made the rounds enough that it would generate some laughs. - 1970vintage

Soggy, but there’s loads and they are still on the branch. Squirrels and jays haven’t eaten them all yet. I have a couple of net bags this year so hopefully will get a few to eat. I’m guessing three more weeks and they’ll be ready.
How are yours? - bloatedmosquito
Small and green. Not much for sweet cherry but loads of sour cherry. The tree is young so the sweet cherry should catch up as it ages. I have some nets i'm going to put up shortly, figure we might have cherries mid-july.

lol yes thx I understand the processes involved. I'm just saying people need to be careful what they wish for pushing narratives that aren't so clear. But maybe ask Minneapolis City Council what they think when asked last night on tv who residents should call if someone is breaking into their home or there is a killer loose on their streets? The response was interesting lol https://www.dailywire.com...-she-struggles-to-respond
But thx for that you brought up some good points here.
Any thoughts on how the forwards roster is going to look like when they return? - VANTEL
In the West, I’d say about on par with the Hawks. Some dynamic, talented players surrounded by average role players and a few young guys still trying to prove they belong. Under the right circumstances, either team could surprise their opponent. You want lines? Same as it ever was. If Mr. Ferley is healthy, I guess he slots in on line 3 with Sutter and Eriksson.
I think there is no way Sven is on the team next year he will be moved hell or high water. .
I think Jake is playing his last games as a Canuck because he has arbitration rights and could easily be awarded more than 3.5 .
Here is something wild that could happen or something like it. Benning finds a team looking to move a big long contract. PK Subban comes to mind. Jake Loui and Sven
After July 1 Loui gets paid 1 mil only this year. Sven costs 3.4 and Jake is whatever his new team negotiates. Subban has 3 year left at 9 mil per. NJ save real money this year because of Loui's base salart. Sven comes off the books next year and Loui's salary is 4 mil . The following year Loui is off their books saving them 9 mil .
It also deals with the Tanev issue seing PK is your 2nd pair Dman.
Wild yes but look for Benning to make some sort of deal like that but my feelings are Jake and Sven are gone this year
