Wow, that's really not good. The only good thing in that trade is the Leafs 1st back (which I think Carolina already traded?). But even then, a 1st is the bare minimum of starters the Leafs should be getting for Nylander.

Nylander could continue to produce as he is now as long as whatever they get in return fills the needs of the team which is character, defense, toughness and consistency on the blueline.

Kapanen is a top-six winger and Myers doesn't even have a full season of experience under his belt. He's a big body but calling him a 2nd pair D isn't proven yet.

Kerfoot or Johnsson, absolutely. Kapanen, no.

A 1st round pick that isn't a top 5 pick and a lock to be a sure fire legit player is useless to the Leafs.

With all the other high end shooters the Leafs have, you'd have to think he'd figure it out and be able to score 30 pretty easily in his prime. He's so young, he's got room to grow for sure.
