And you're proving my point. While he had income, he simply tried to sell the lease without threatening to shut the place, because if he does, he'll have to pay lease out of his own pocket. Threatening to 'shutter' the place at the very time it CAN'T generate income seems like a negotiating ploy to me.

Nassau should sell that land already and this way something meaning full and smart will be done with it.
If they would have let Wang build his Lighthouse project it would have been done already. They didn't want it and haven't done a thing to the property that makes any sense. Politicians Suck!

If you don't know what that means there is a small patch of land right near the coliseum that is all that remains of what was once known as the Hempstead Plains. It's protected land but it's pretty comical how small it is at this point. It used to be over 60,000 acres and is where many of the first flights ever took place. It was referred to as the "cradle of Aviation" which is why that museum is in that spot near Nassau Community college.

It was one of the many reasons they gave to fight the lighthouse project b/c it would pollute the plains.

Yes I know about it but it makes no sense to me at this point Horse racing was also there before aviation. Do something with the property that improves the area and provides jobs for the community and tax revenue for the county. Last but not least remove the eyesore and the expansive black top plains that are currently there

Nassau will make sure Ledecky's team has a home. The guy has some serious political connections, and Dolan makes good money broadcasting the games. I imagine a lot of public thanks and compliments will be thrown at Cuomo before this is settled.
