This is the last I’ll say, because it’s aggravating trying to have a discussion with you when you speak in gibberish.

Troy from Richmond is not in control of his status this off season. There are three likely outcomes:

1) the Canucks do not tender him a qualifying offer, he becomes a UFA. He has ZERO control over this, and it is the most likely scenario based on the current salary cap situation.

2) the Canucks do tender a qualifying offer for the same $2.325m he made last season and he accepts. Everyone keeps saying “sign him for a million” but the market for D who can play is higher than that me thinks.

3) the Canucks do tender a qualifying offer and he decides to seek arbitration. At this point, they can continue to negotiate, but if the case goes to arbitration neither side can walk away, and the team cannot trade him for 1 year.

I suppose there is a fourth scenario, where a stupid GM decides to trade something for his rights prior to the QO deadline (which is unknown at this point) and then they are stuck with options 2 & 3. This would be like giving up a draft pick for Derrick Pouilot right before he was going to be waived by the Penguins...
