He has experience in front office management and Kim is beyond bad.
Simple enough - sbroads24
Neither makes this team anywhere near a championship contender. |

He wasn’t bad either
Pretty sure i remember him among the league leaders in 5v5 goals in his time here
You’ve always been way too hard on him - jdfitz77
Kane can also kill penalties and was a better PP producer. Also $2M cheaper. |

Unfortunately he got into a little trouble and Kim didn't want him here. |

Are there a lot of people denying that? Haven't really noticed it.
On the other hand, Drury was washed 2 years after leaving Buffalo. He's still treated like a god. - Lunaion
Hindsight being 20/20, Briere was the guy they should have negotiated with as soon as possible. I know the arbitration rules made it tricky, but still they made it clear Drury was their guy, and it was a mistake.

I’m not trying to compare the 2
I think we could’ve had both
And maybe if we did still have Kane & ROR,
then Skinner would’ve taken a discount to stay instead of demanding top $$$ |

Who's ultimately responsible for the decision to play hutton injured?
Botts
Ralph
Medical staff
Kym - Boss34
Could it be they made a decision that none of the goalies in the AHL were ready to jump in and they didn’t think Ullmark would be out for 7 or 8 weeks with a mild sprain. Why was he out for so long anyway? |

Would of been a playoff team keeping those two |

Why are you calling it a mild sprain? Didn't he come back early?
No reason to think there was anything sinister with Hutton. He's not blaming it, don't see why we are.

Not bad but not as good as advertised either.
He took way too many penalties and ruined too many o zone chances to offset his 1 goal every 4 games he had here |

With those two here you’re taking players off this roster and we’re still lacking depth with bad goaltending
Wouldn’t be enough |

So a guy is drafted for position A but ends up going to position B because he's better at it, but it's all the sudden frowned upon simply because where he was drafted. What incredible logic.
Yes, it would be nice if the guy you drafted to play a position played that position. But if they're better somewhere else, it should really not matter anymore. - TheSabresTaco

I get why we didn’t keep Kane
His off ice stuff was an issue for the Pegulas
I liked him as a player, but i get why they didn’t wanna risk a long term contract with him
The big argument to have a Team Pres imo is the ROR situation
That’s a case where LaFontaine (or whoever) could’ve been a bridge from Botts to the Pegulas to say we should keep him
Trading ROR has obviously been a disaster to this point
Still have no idea why so many here liked that trade
It was awful |

182 games played as a ranger
Only 37 goals.
Probably worked out better that Drury left as a free agent.
Hurt badly at the time though |

It has been so far. But like most trades like that the team getting the immediate impact will have the edge.
I still think the big issue was not replacing him when it was obvious CM wasn’t ready.
He wasn’t winning a Conn Smythe or Selke here |

Right, they the depth still wouldn’t be good enough. That’s my point
ROR + Kane = 14.5 mil

Well, not to start a big thing,
but you said about 1,000 times that he was easily replaced
You were wrong about that

Disagree
The depth also wouldn’t be as important with enough ammo to make 3 solid lines
Don’t have to put the best 6 forwards on the top2 lines ya know |

Kane and ROR trades took most of are depth. The picks and some of the prospects used really hurt the system. |

We wouldn’t have 3 lines still. Not to mention even if we did have both, who are we getting rid of this offseason or next to make sure guys like Reinhart, Dahlin and Jokiharju get signed? |
