He did not make any moves to threaten the duration of the long term window to win sooner.

Apart from Skinner, Montour, and Joker he has not acquired any other players that he has planned on being here long term so he’s 2/3
. He’s shooting 50% from the floor if you include Hutton but even he is up after next season.

Mojo has a higher AAV then I’m sure most would like but the 2 year term was a solid move and an attempt to better the team without having to give crazy term to Zuccarello or Nyquist (looked good then, even better now).

IMO, this right here is THE problem.
You are right, he did next to nothing to fix the long-term outlook if this team in 3 years.
He should have made fewer, investment type deals rather than the "throw away" deals he did make.
The ones he did are questionable.
Can't see how anyone should feel comfortable with hi. Setting up the commitments for the next 3 - 5 years of the franchise.
Team has been stuck in neutral for 3 years.

Approach be damned, I don't really care how he goes about it, he tried to win the past 2 years and has failed miserably. Short term and long term are both important. It's year 4 and he's still blowing it, Billy Madison style.

Well lets see if he can flip the script and put in in Drive, it's a good offseason to do it. We know he isn't going anywhere so let's hope he knows how to switch gears.

Well atleast the next GM will have a little bit of a Prospect pool to come into, would have been a lot closer to the playoffs with a goalie that could see the puck.

This team is completely FUBAR

They hired a yes man in Adams

Kim Pegula has ruined this franchise

Their reasoning behind firing him is a JOKE "we have philosophy differences regarding how best to put ourselves in position to compete for a Stanley cup"

Makes more sense why Kim was on calls with agents this week

Jason probably had enough

"We need to spend money on good players"

Kim - Yea, were going to have to let you go

I'm fine with Botts being gone, but the Adams promotion feels just like they are moving someone in that won't get rid of coach and will do Kim's bidding. Great....

Kim's gonna trade our first this year.

Sure, he put his faith in drafting. Time will tell how that will work out.
