Adams is going to get run over as a GM.
Sounds like he wants to be everyones friend - ImThatGuy
what's the cap floor for next season?
sounds like that is the goal |

How the hell can anyone think this is a good day for the Sabres...
Jesus Christ this is a (frank)ing embarrassment - Stripes77
Rob Blake, John Davidson, Joe Sakic among others had no experience as GM's and they probably didn't have coaching, or sports financial management experience. There are others who never played high-level hockey.
The law of averages will hit someday and they will get a good GM and I like that they have a new set of eyes. Part of GMJB's problem was he held on to the corp too long.
There is too much going on in the world to break down over this. |

Is it just me...or does this guy sound like he's about to get talked into trading away Eichel... - feetontheair22
I know this wouldn't be the case in maybe even 24 hours, but if we got a press release in an hour that Eichel was traded to one of the other 6 teams not to make the playoffs, I wouldn't be upset. I'm just numb and apathetic.

Did you not here that they like the core that they have here?
They said this isn't a rebuild.
Those three guys you mentioned also weren't promoted from within after doing random jobs in the organization since 2009

This is wron.
Sakic for example:
After he retired, Sakic decided to take time off from hockey and spent time with his family. In 2011, two years after his retirement, Sakic returned to the Avalanche to work in their front office. He was named an executive advisor and alternate governor for the team, effective at the end of the 2010โ11 season. In his role as an advisor, Sakic would advise the team in hockey-related matters, and as an alternate governor, would represent the team at Board of Governors meetings.[82]

I don't trust news conferences or things cited in articles, notices GMJB being fired. I like common sense and they are not going to sit still with the same players and sh*t the bed again. Especially when Jack wants moves too.

I'm pumped about Adams. The fact that the morons on here that have been slobbing Botts knob for the past 3 years are so upset is icing on the cake. |

I have zero issues with Botts being fired
What I have issues with is they didn't even conduct a search.
Also Kim Pegula "this is not a rebuild"
Ralph Kruger "we feel we can win with this team"

not sure how much common sense they have as this is the third time in a row that they hired a rookie gm and they're expecting different results |

results were an obvious issue with botts and primarily led to his firing, however, this is what uncle terry, who had talked about communication many times today, mentioned surrounding botts: "we felt like we weren't being heard"...this after talking about making adjustments to the business side...
kym followed up with, "[we need] new insights, thoughts...kevyn is better equipped to get us down this road." |

they fired the guy that got them where they are for the short term |

Why would the GM of a professional sports team care about the business side?
If they are in this to make money they should just sell the team now |

even Paul Hamilton is critical of this.
He is never critical of teh Sabres.
Sounds like Peguals wanted to cut Scouting/Player Depts and Botts said no we need that.
Peguals said okay then see ya. |
