From his interview this morning, he's heavily implying that he will be building a new, experienced front office staff. - TheSabresTaco
I was impressed. He seems bright and articulate. Said he's big on analytics and understands the center issue
Nice to listen to someone who has more charisma than a toaster |

A few people have told me things that I didn't believe at first, but now I am leaning more toward believing it
Take it as you will
That is all I am going to say - Stripes77
So you're going to heavily hint at some seedy, untoward behavior that you didn't even believe at first, and you're connecting names as well, without detail?
That's a poopty way to say something without going into detail. |

New Sabres GM Kevyn Adams essentially just said on WGR that moving forward, the priority for the Amerks will be player development. Read between the lines: Lots of kids, winning not really a priority. - Stripes77
Maybe Rochester a actually wins a playoff round.
Teaches the prospects that winning in the playoffs matters.
Between the lines:
Pegulas spent tons of $ on hired ahl players, coaches and an assistant gm for nothing.
Great regular season record isnt impressive to me |

I bet he asks for one. Go right to Terry and say, "I want out".

Had that Athletic article and "maintaining family lifestyle" edict not come out, trimming the fat in the organization wouldn't look that bad. They beefed up the coaching and scouting staff, and had nothing to show for it in nine years.

I'm with you taco.
I like the hire. Adams seems quite capable to surround himself with a great staff. Positions above and below the gm spot seems likely.
McDermott then Beane
Ralph then Adam's. - Boss34
I *want* to like the hire. I won't dare write him off, but hiring yet another guy with no GM or even asst. GM experience does not inspire confidence. Every man is different. So saying man A will be like man B because of reasons X and Y is a faulty argument. Some of the most successful people in the world only have a high school diploma. But many more are losers. I think Kevyn Adams has been extremely successful at all the roles he's taken on. So I think the man has the ability to be successful, as long as he embraces those that he knows are smarter than him in other areas, which he's repeated he has no problem doing.
I encourage everyone to listen to his interview with Howard and the one coming up on Instigators. My confidence level has bottomed out, but I have no reason to know that he will fail. The reasons he fired a lot of the staff are actually interesting. |

Any experienced GM would want to bring in "his own guys". I can't blame Kevyn Adams for wanting to do the same. We'll have to see who he brings in, and if it works. |

So let them have a coach that can't get to the next level... smart

it's not that she is a woman
it's that she is a failure at her job

This is important. Quantity is nothing without quality. We're no where. In nine (frank)ing years. And honestly, beyond that. Last time we were in the playoffs, we were riding on the coat tails of the drafts before 2004.
It sounds like KA is placing scouting at a premium. Scouting that works WITH analytics that works WITH player development. It really sounds like they were all on different pages. Which is absolutely zero surprising.
You find a bunch of scouts, player development coaches and hockey managers that all want to work with one another to find the best players ("acting, not reacting") for the Sabres, this team will theoretically look so, so much better. |

Really? .. every single comment is a about Kim
And the racist one Asian hate money lost wtf... - gerbe75pts
Well the "Asians hate to lose money comment is definitely a stereotype, its not exactly racist. Dumb comment nonetheless.
However, Kim Pegula sucking at the job has nothing to do with her being a female. This ownership group has shown an absurd level of incompetence when it comes to the Sabres.
This is one of, if not, the worst 10 years of hockey by any franchise in the NHL. Let that sink in for a moment. No franchise has had a 10 year period with this lousy of a performance.
They need to remove themselves from hockey related decisions. Just because you can run a company does not mean you can run a professional sports franchise. They have showed a great deal of ignorance by not realizing this sentiment.
If they do not remove themselves from the day to day decision making we will follow the path of Daniel Snyder and the Redskins.

They didn't though
Kevin Devine is somehow still employed
How is that even possible?
The cleaning house thing is one, how they did it is another and who they replaced them with is the third

Someone brought this up yesterday, this is the exact thing they have said at all 3 press conferences when Darcy, Murray, and Botts have been fired
Seems it's pretty tough to get on the Pegula's page |

As long as he actually brings in guys, like he heavily suggests he will do, the anger around here will likely subside, at least for a bit. |

Terry and Kim Pegula believe Kevyn Adams will be a successful general manager.
The Sabres owners know Adams will listen to them.
The second sentence may be more important than the first.

Kevyn was quoted this morning with Howard saying that. I personally have never heard that suggestion before from the past GMs. |
