Depends on the 2C.
If he plays more like Jack did last year as a playmaker, for Skinner to finish then yes.
If he is more of a shoot first then no.
I like Jack taking more shots as a sniper that being more of a set-up guy...he was the best sniper in the league last year. - IonSabres
That's a good point, that's why I like Strome, more of a passer, even Granlund is a great set up guy, but think he will cost to much. Or maybe Adams calls his old friend Sullivan in Arizona, they are hard up with a stagnant cap, see what it takes to get Dvorak. |

I would be find moving montour, that it was a bad trade at the time of the trade, and is becoming more obvious it was.
Our forwards are so weak. I want to add there, not decrease.
We actually could ice a very solid bottom 6 with Olofsson, MOJO, Kahun, Asplund, Lazar, and Larsson.
We desperately need that 2nd line center to balance the forward group out.
I wouldn't hate Haula as a stop gap for a year or two until Cozens or another prospect is ready to step in
A plug in- Eichel- Reinhart
Skinner-Haula- plug in
Olofsson-Mojo-Kahun
Asplund-Lazar-Larsson
I think that could be a playoff group of forwards. I would like a better 2nd line center, i just don't if one is available. - Mentalorgasm5
I get that. I’d just like to keep Miller. Think he’s a great compliment to Dahlin, and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. When doing the get under 75M payroll, your choice really comes down to Miller or MoJo imo |

Imo Montour or Risto should be shipped out. Adams should be on the phone with Piluts agent today.

BUF needs some help up front. I would do a deal for Boeser with them but I would make BUF take a "bad" contract off our hands. Here's what I would do if I'm VAN:
To BUF: Boeser + Sutter
To VAN: Ristolainen + 2nd round pick '20
I'm not giving Boeser away
What do you guys here say? |

This roster isn't that far away. If you slot everyone where they are actually a good player...
First line: Skinner - Eichel - XXXXXX
Second line: Olofsson - XXXXXX- XXXXXX
Third Line: Kahun - Cozens - Mojo
Fourth Line: Lazar - Asplund - Okposo
Defense 1st pairing: Dahlin - Montour
Defense 2nd Pairing: XXXXXX - Joker
Defense 3rd Pairing: McCabe - Miller
Goal: XXXXXX and Hutton
So like, five players? And that is trading Risto and Reinhart, which should fill two of those spots. Maybe one of Mittelstadt, Tage Thompson, or Ruotsoleinen is really impressive in camp and you only need like two players. Basically, sign a top six forward, don't blow the Risto and Reinhart trades completely, and find a top 20 goalie.
All of this is to say really how badly Botts failed. He only needed to make the same 1 or 2 moves last year (upgrade in goal, second liner) and we would be watching playoff hockey. I can't honestly see any reason Kevyn Adams can't do these things.

I still don’t think you’re getting what we were doing. Salary under 75M. That means one of montour or Risto is gone straight away. Then your choice boils down to MoJo or Miller as the other odd man out, or possibly a different player. I like the defense you assembled here. The forwards as well. But it doesn’t get us under 75M |

This isn't playoff hockey though
It's a play in to the playoff hockey
This team needs more than 1 or 2 moves to be a legit playoff team
Can Adams get this team into the top 24? Sure
Can Adams get this team into the real playoffs? We will see

Not that he had a lot of time or players to work with, but he did well with Mittelstadt, Thompson, Olofsson, Asplund, Borgen and Bryson. - TheSabresTaco
To start off I wouldn't have fired Taylor but of all those players one has become an NHL contributor so far and he came to Rochester with a lot of the goods, scoring 30 goals his first year and being a scorer in the top Swedish league.
Also, there may not be an AHL next year so I think this argument should go to the lower priorities. |

If Botts does what you are referring to the last few years we don’t end up with Cozens or a top 10 pick this year.
I’m still in the boat that says we were better off losing personally.
I was always figuring that this offseason was the offseason to really go for it.
Let’s see what Adams can do. |

Has anyone talked about the Sabres now have their McBeane team in Adams and Ralph and that Ralph will have more of a say in who is on his roster?
Hopefully, he has the political skills to listen to the Pegs and sell them on what they want done in a diplomatic way and keep their hands as much out of the cookie jar as possible. |

I'm sort of baffled they didnt interview anyone, I can't think a time where a professional sports team didn't conduct a round of interviews for a GM role.
Botts was horrible imo, so I'll give Adams one draft and one free agency period before I cast judgment. Having said that, I dont have the highest hopes for him.
But he has guaranteed top 10 pick, and a bunch of cap, hoefully he can bring in 1 or 2 legit forwards. - Mentalorgasm5
Does he? Thought I read that there were overages that we’re going to reduce next year’s cap by ~7 mil. Of course, I don’t know how any of that works so I could’ve misinterpreted what I read. |

It's much less than that. Probably only 1-2m. Still a lot of questions about how they account for the missed portion of the season, that effect the final number. |

One of the main duties of a GM is to Overseeing daily business operations
how can he assess the ahl club and scouting department in a few short hours?

Is the AHL even going to play next season? Is this one of those times where they know something we don't?

If any of you were an owner would you pay to the cap if you were only getting minimal results? That is a stupid business model They have been overpaying for the number of scouts, bad contracts for no return on that investment. A bad, building team should not be at the cap year in and year out. |

no clue
purging your ahl, and scouting department overnight might make sense after an extensive GM search
instead we were told continuity, then knee jerk reacion
sounds more like
“What that told me,” a PSE employee said, “is I’m getting laid off before they cancel that family trip to Tahiti."

you would think if you were bringing george floyd into the presser, you would at least interview a minority for the new gm position
