you would think if you were bringing george floyd into the presser, you would at least interview a minority for the new gm position

And that would have had steam coming out of every orifice of your body. When are you joining the Boogaloo Boys?

no clue

purging your ahl, and scouting department overnight might make sense after an extensive GM search

instead we were told continuity, then knee jerk reacion

sounds more like

“What that told me,” a PSE employee said, “is I’m getting laid off before they cancel that family trip to Tahiti."

Every part of yesterday was awful. Just curious on the AHL side. Haven't caught much talk about their future next year.

This roster isn't that far away. If you slot everyone where they are actually a good player...

First line: Skinner - Eichel - XXXXXX
Second line: Olofsson - XXXXXX- XXXXXX
Third Line: Kahun - Cozens - Mojo
Fourth Line: Lazar - Asplund - Okposo

Defense 1st pairing: Dahlin - Montour
Defense 2nd Pairing: XXXXXX - Joker
Defense 3rd Pairing: McCabe - Miller

Goal: XXXXXX and Hutton

So like, five players? And that is trading Risto and Reinhart, which should fill two of those spots. Maybe one of Mittelstadt, Tage Thompson, or Ruotsoleinen is really impressive in camp and you only need like two players. Basically, sign a top six forward, don't blow the Risto and Reinhart trades completely, and find a top 20 goalie.

All of this is to say really how badly Botts failed. He only needed to make the same 1 or 2 moves last year (upgrade in goal, second liner) and we would be watching playoff hockey. I can't honestly see any reason Kevyn Adams can't do these things.

They have put together some AHL board to see what it would take to have a season. Guess Steve Y is running it, rumors are that it would be tough for the teams to play without fans. Was said that there were like 3 to 5 teams that can make it work in that manner. Doesn't sound good.

I think they'd be forced to. Even then, it would be challenging.

I don't know what they would do, that's why I posted awhile back about players going overseas to play, could be a big reason Pilut went over. Atleast they would get to play hockey for a little while and get paid.

sabres had a verbal agreement with drury in the fall but never got around to writing the contract

drury changed his mind at the end, and in a panic move darcy tried to low ball briere at the last minute

Word was they were gonna let Briere walk, and go all in on Drury. Drury decided to go to NYR, Briere felt slighted, went to Philly, and Edm hamstrung them. Shoulda let Vanek go, but couldn’t lose the three best players in the same offseason. Maybe over simplified but pretty close

Some will say it's always the corona's fault, even if you're a 500lb diabetic smoker with a bad ticker eating bacon sammitches for lunch daily and washing them down with a two liter of Jolt Cola.

I don't think he learns anymore in Juniors, and how is it bad for the cap having a player on his ELC, could be wrong imo.

Is there actually going to be a Jr league playing until there is a vaccine? I'm not so sure there is.

That's a big ? to, there's a lot that nobody knows right now. Even if there is a Jr's season, still don't think he learns much more down there. It is gonna be a very interesting offseason.

Kind of my point, without one, Jr leagues trying to play without fans go under very quickly, hell most barely survive as is. Why keep scouting and AHL personal around when both those leagues may be taking a 18 month vacation. As someone said, this is a business after all.

Despite misgivings, they kept Bills president Russ Brandon and GM Doug Whaley because they all warmed up to each other while hunkered down in search of Doug Marrone’s successor. Rex Ryan charmed the Pegulas. All of them are gone.

So, too, are Pat LaFontaine, Tim Murray, Ted Nolan, Ron Rolston, Dan Bylsma and Phil Housley.

All those leadership missteps imply the Pegulas got lucky, especially since Whaley was part of the process, when hiring Bills coach Sean McDermott.

McDermott begat Brandon Beane as general manager. That addition begat a front office loaded with respected talent evaluators such as assistant GM Joe Schoen, personnel adviser Brian Gaine, pro personnel director Malik Boyd, college scouting director Terrance Gray, player personnel director Dan Morgan, college scouting assistant director Lake Dawson and senior scout Dennis Hickey.
