How about Vince Dunn? Good replacement for when Edler moves on. Might start talks with JV. - Nighthawk
I was looking at him earlier today I don't think St.L are going to give him up . They weill lose AP this year that will be enough |

Vince is a nice defenseman, Edmundson would be nice also, but might be a bit costly as a UFA. - Reubenkincade
Other option is holding out that Rathbone will make it one day as a top 4 LHD. Take some time & at worst looking to be bottom pairing floor. Ceiling is hard to gauge but I believe we could see him signed & playing next season. The kid is projecting nicely & could go to Utica if the A gets up & running.
I like the idea of Edmundson as a LHD at the right price & dependent on what else gives. Lots of work for JB & Gear to do. |

If they lose AP no chance Dunn moves agreed. StL has work do as well let alone fitting AP into the cap |

Not a fan of holding out, crossing fingers that a player will develop into a top role years down the track.
Should always be trying to improve the team and if kids develop and force their way onto the team...gravy.

The little i’ve seen of him looks very good. I think we’ll see him soon enough. |

Sweet.
I was more referring to the management strategy of 'hoping' vs being proactive in recruiting/trading/signing players for today and allowing players in the minors, University and the AHL to develop properly. |

Our prospect pool is solid & developing in the right places. Cap management is priority & who signs & who goes of course. ELC’s might be forced into the lineup these next few years. Not ideal but not a bad thing given some look ready or nearly ready. |

Logjam of F’s namely Sutter Beagle LE Roussel cannot continue. Decent for the bottom 3 & other depth but getting in the way of kids eg MacEwen & maybe Hoglander soon. Lind looks to be seasoning nicely & not far off. Pod is surely to make the team in 2021/22. Leivo & Motte are caught up in finite spots. Ferland is a situation to difficult to predict. If healthy it’s a big boost for the top 9. Or LTIR til his contract expires is also a possibility.
We are entering a fun phase with D being a different beast needing attention. |

Hughes ???
(Edler) Myers
(Benn) ???
The next year Edler & Benn are UFA’s with Benn gone for sure. Edler maybe 1yr team friendly.
We don’t don’t need top 10 D in the league only middle of the pack to be ok. Rathbone OJ Utunen & Woo the only RHD are future candidates.
Some have named a few D to go for.
Edmundson LHD - i like him at the right price
Demelo RHD - Jets likely & need to resign him
I also like Gudas RHD short term.
Drafting hidden gems on D would be a major step.
Might be time to see getting a young RHD that will cost us something we might not like. Question then is the F’s depth good enough to do that. Alternative is more of a status quo after our RFA/UFA dust settles. There’s lots of time to make decisions. |

Edler-Myers
Hughes-Tryamkin
Risto-OJ
Sign Tree, trade Boeser for Risto, let Tanev/Stetcher walk.
problem solved.

Hughes Risto
Edler Myers
OJ Tryamkin
More like it with Rafferty RHD & Rathbone LHD on the horizon. Pricey give to get Risto probably won’t win you over the ppl in here. Lol |

Trust me, it’s awful there. A bunch of unemployed college students and old welfare cases spouting off utter nonsense and shouting their loud display of hockey ignorance. Here is way better and you get opinions from All hockey fanbases not just the Canuck bias with rose-coloured glasses.
The Canuck fans here are all pretty level headed if I remember correctly |

Oh.
Forgot to mention that this was taking place in an alt universe where the NHL season exists, Tryamkin was good and smoked weed, OJ was good and not made of glass and trades happen.

Between now & 2021/22 RW Pod Lind & LW Hoagie with RHD Rafferty LHD OJ Rathbone all potentially on the team. Exciting times.
RW is very deep & deeper if Toffoli signs.
LW not nearly so deep if Ferland is done.
C is intriguing with Costmar & Michaelis |

How close is OJ? He’s one prospect that I forget about and has kind of fallen off the map for me. The one guy whose style I liked and was hoping would make it eventually is Jet Woo... but I haven’t heard much about him this last season either. |

Need for drafting RHD D is obvious & the need to solidify the top 6 in the meantime.
The F & G group are very solid already.
Fixing the warts on D from within or whatever will be the talk topic for awhile. |
