How close is OJ? He’s one prospect that I forget about and has kind of fallen off the map for me. The one guy whose style I liked and was hoping would make it eventually is Jet Woo... but I haven’t heard much about him this last season either.
- I-own_da-Northwest

Injuries to OJ keep setting him back. Needs to get 100% & the experience. Played only 43% of the games in 2 years at Utica.

Woo had a different role this year but doing just fine. 2-3yrs away from the bigs.

OJ just needs to get stronger against forwards. He gets overpowered when he plays. Smart player.

I haven't quite written him off yet.
But he's on thin ice (pun intended)

Our prospect pool is solid & developing in the right places. Cap management is priority & who signs & who goes of course. ELC’s might be forced into the lineup these next few years. Not ideal but not a bad thing given some look ready or nearly ready.

I hope he makes it. I’ve had a dislike for Edler since he was about 27. I felt like he had an embarrassment of high level skill that was wasted on a scarecrow brain for hockey. He’s carved out a nice career on skill alone but I’ve always been frustrated at his braindead plays. I really like Hughes as he’s the mix of high end skill and smart hockey sense. I’m hoping OJ has a good combination of both if/when he makes it.

How do you think they compare to other teams?

I am always curious who people think has the best prospects ?

I always thought Edler was most like the player OJ reminded me of . He also has some Ristolainen in his style

Jesus. Overpowered? At 6’3” and 200lbs that shouldn’t happen. QH doesn’t seem to get overpowered and he has a built-in excuse at 5’10” and 170.

Amazing to think OJ was drafted two positions higher that QH (5 vs 7).

Middle of the pack as usual. Every ranking I’ve read has them anywhere between 13th and 17th league-wide. As you know, I’m not a prospect guy and I value other opinions on here but some overvalue our organizational depth. I think we have maybe 3 or 4 players who have a legit shot at the NHL as difference-makers and the rest are question marks or fringe players at best.

Every time I go into a team on CapFriendly I check out their minor league team. I would put our prospects up against any of them . Not to mention we had 3 players 3 years in a row as a Calder finalist

Fuck patience for a top 5 draft pick.

Patience is for rounds 2 to 7.

Here is a list of Canucks prospects that will probably play in the NHL

OJ
Rathbone
Mike D
Hoglander
Lind
PodK
Rafferty
Zack Mac
Woo
Briesbois

Can you show me the list of the team you think has better ? List as many teams as you want.

For the record you came up with 3 teams , Bloated seems to think there is at least 12 -15 teams better than ours if we are middle of the road.

I agree Det and Ott have a solid list . Flyers I would say they are okay.

Flyers AHL team was nothing to brag about we 15 pts ahead of them.

I'm not sure about the D tbh.
Bries, Woo, Rathbone and OJ might get a cup of coffee, but i'm not convinced they will be regulars (if that's what you mean by playing in the NHL)
