Here is a list of Canucks prospects that will probably play in the NHL
OJ
Rathbone
Mike D
Hoglander
Lind
PodK
Rafferty
Zack Mac
Woo
Briesbois
Can you show me the list of the team you think has better ? List as many teams as you want. - VANTEL
I’m going to talk Canucks only because I don’t care about other teams (even though I think the hurricanes might have the most prospect depth right now). Here’s who I think has the best chance of having an impact on the Canucks:
DiPietro
Pod
Hog
Rath (maybe)
I don’t consider Zack Mac a prospect with 20+ NHL games.

Zac is definitely a prospect.
You are going to talk Canucks only then maybe don't say they are middle of the pack which would be talking other teams. |

Write out the list of their top prospects. And for the record you came up with 3 teams , Bloated seems to think there is at least 12 -15 teams better than ours if we are middle of the road. - VANTEL
I went with the 1st 3 teams off the top of my head.
Ottawa
3 1st round picks & 4 2nds this draft
Norris
Brown
Gruden
Batherson
Davidsson
Abramov
Chalapik
Formenton

Jesus. Overpowered? At 6’3” and 200lbs that shouldn’t happen. QH doesn’t seem to get overpowered and he has a built-in excuse at 5’10” and 170.
Amazing to think OJ was drafted two positions higher that QH (5 vs 7). - bloatedmosquito
Hobbled by injuries & not in top form has set him back. Mobility suffered. Patience. |

Brown was drafted same year as OJ hasn't really found a spot yet . I mean he is a 6'8 bean pole , surely he he should over overpower NHL players. ( That was a shot at Bloated ) |

I'm in agreement with this mostly.
I like Lind's chances and I'm not sure about any of the D prospects.

I wasn’t talking about it. You asked me. I told you what I’ve read. It’s just opinion anyway, not science. What does it matter?
I still think there are 3-4 Canuck prospects that have a legit chance and that’s it. The rest on your list is “hope”. But I hope you are right and I am wrong. We shall see. |

I will give you Ott and Det but I don't think Flyers have top end . Like I said that is only 2-3 teams and then you are starting to put Canucks into the conversation. |

I guess the question is, is 3-4 prospects legitimately having a chance to make the show a good prospect pool, when you consider we had 3 ROY finalists in the past 3 years, indicating that they haven't exactly been held back or stocking the cupboards for the past several years.
I'd say yes. |

I have news , every team has 3 or 4 top prospects. There is no team that has 10-15 top prospects,

Yeah, it’s the safe bet. Vantel and nighthawk have the entire Comet roster playing in the NHL. Hope there will be room for QH, EP, BB, BH, JV, JTM, etc. |

I was thinking the same about your opinion of every other team . I thought you believe that they have 10 players ready to step in.
Canucks prospect pool is solid. |

Ok, so you’re saying the Canucks are not unique or better than any other team? So ranking teams would be an exercise in opinion only?
I’ll agree with that.

Bottom line is we have a very solid prospect pool which isn’t the norm for us. Can only get better. |

Here’s my crazy theory... within the Canucks organization, if a forward plays any significant time with the farm team you have little to no chance of being an impact on the NHL team. Especially for a first round pick.
If you look at our young core group of BH, EP, BB, and QH they have about 5 games in the AHL combined.
On the other hand you have JV who’s played 60+ games on the AHL, has not lived up to expectations, and is a frequent target as trade bait.
Impact players avoid the AHL like the plague. |

Hard to argue with that.
The only NHL'er that did serious time in the AHL that comes to mind is Demko.
hopefully Lind. |

I agree there is potential there but we are talking Canucks. And if we’ve learned anything from history it is more than likely it will not get better.
Any prospect with a whiff of NHL talent will go straight to the big club and skip the AHL altogether. In turn keeping our “prospect pool” at an average level. |

That’s a good theory 👍
2nd rounders on down should integrate quick in the AHL & learn how to be pro. In 1-2 years they should peak & push for an NHL job. 3yrs for some for differing factors involved. They all should be mid top 6 or top 4 realistic potential. Dominate their league is the ticket.
Pod
Hoagie
Lind
OJ
Rathbone
Rafferty
All so far projecting nicely with more room to grow. All those F’s top 9 potential the D bottom 4. |

You are right about goalies and d-men that’s why I said “forwards”.
I’m very sceptical of Vantel’s and nighthawk’s confidence with our AHL/junior group. |
