He should've played all of last (this?) season with the big club, IMO. That's what I think that he was hoping to do, as well, when he first signed, so I was surprised when he signed that extension after spending most of the year in the AHL, instead.

He was certainly skilled enough to play the entire season in the NHL, but I'm actually quite content with him spending most of the season in the AHL and building chemistry with Vilardi. When they were both called up, they continued that chemistry and had solid production together in the final weeks of the season. If he had spent the entire season playing on a line with Lizotte and Clifford/Moore (for example), he wouldn't have done so well with Vilardi there at the end, IMO.
