I never played hockey growing up, but went to high school in North Van with a lot of people who played at higher levels. Pretty much sums up what they told me about hazing. - NewYorkNuck
Grew up in North Van. Our rep teams had original Canuck jerseys. Back then fans whined about them & how ugly they were. It was the genesis of the idiot side of the fanbase we have today. |

Post has learned that Lias Andersson has decided to remain in Sweden. Rangers had talked to him about joining team for 2020 training camp, but seventh-overall from 2017 opted against accepting invite...So it ends until there's a trade...

Andersson is under contract with NYR for 2020-21, so they have to be involved in this process - VANTEL

Someone tell Nighthawk about this when he wakes up.
he's always going on about trading down at the draft to recoup more picks. - dbot
Correction: I always claim to have a deal in the back pocket to be ready if needed. Plan for the unexpected. Better to be prepared vs scrambling if the situation arises to improve. |

Resigned Kreider 29yrs old 7/6.5m
Lias Andersson demanding out
Kravtsov unhappy
Their coach Quinn seems to be a tyrant with the youngins being improperly developed.
Otherwise everything lookin rosier since Panarin signed. |

Tavares
Of the $77 million, $70,890,000 comes in the form of signing bonuses to be paid throughout the seven-year term. He then makes the league minimum salary of $650,000 in year one and $910,000 in years two through seven. With the right planning, Tavares can save millions in taxes through the life of this contract.Jul 6, 2018
The rich teams have a huge loop hole needing to be closed entering the Covid cap era. |

Why does it need to be closed? Rich teams pay the full amount. Doesn't effect the cap. Suppose it makes the rich teams a little more desirable, but they had that leverage going before this all as well. |

On a much lesser item, Sven's salary is only 2.4 mil next year . If NHL comes in around 40 % escrow he will make around 1.4 mil and decide to terminate contract to see if he can get another NHL job. |

You think anyone would offer him > $2.4m? You can't factor in escrow, all contracts fall under the CBA, so any new deal will be subject to the same terms |

Strombo was horrible. They tried to sell him to millennials, hipsters and skinny pants fuktards. A video dj slash womans talk show host who happens to be a hockey fan but a horrible fit all around. - boonerbuck
Over time I think it could have matured into a good situation but he just wasn't given the chance. I remember when Hodge was fired and Maclean replaced him many were angry and wanted Hodge back much like the Strombo situation. They gave Maclean a chance and it worked out good for awhile until he turned into an idiot. I get they were trying to connect with a new audience...just feel he (Strombo) wasn't given a good shot IMO. |

I never said any of that . You do have a horrible habit of assuming .
I said with his escrow he might make 1.5 mil on his final year. I then said he may decide to terminate his contract (not wanting to play in the AHL)
He would probably sign a new contract about 1 mil but play on an NHL team. Who the hell said someone was offering him > than 2.4? |

You said a bunch of stuff that was total bullpoop.
It's tough to keep track of all your ramblings.
You said he would decide to terminate a contract ($2.4m) that will pay him $1.4m (your words) for the potential of earning $1m (only $600k in your scenario). Why would he do that, to avoid the AHL? |

Baertschi is buried in the AHL without much of a chance to make our line-up. If he terminates he has a 1yr head start to get a new opportunity & contract. At a price but gambles on himself. If not then rides out a year in the AHL if it restarts or the KHL is the last option. Time is ticking for him... |

There’s also a chance for them to mutually agree to terminate it, same with eriksson. |
