But lets have a run down of the differences.

1.
Protestors - disorganized, no unified command, spontaneous, so hard to implement any mask policy.
Trump rally: planned, centralized command, tremendous resources: could easily put forward a mandatory face-mask policy (even if people don't obey he could say he has done what he could, AND it sends a message). Better still, could have an event with no/limited spectators, like every major sports is planning.

2.
Protestors - doing what they are doing for a cause larger than themselves. No personal benefit whatsoever, quite the opposite.
Trump: choosing to do what he is doing in the way he is doing it for no reason other than for himself.

3.
Protestors - large numbers, but in the aggregate not in a single space, mostly scattered - across places, cities and moving in open air.
Trump: Indoor event, spectators crammed in same space, not moving. Trump must be aware* that there is now huge evidence that the virus is spread by super-spreader events (29 of the top 30 clusters in this country occurred due to a close-proximity gathering, the 30th was a cruise ship. The spread in Italy happened following a soccer match. The spread in South Korea happened after a church gathering).

*But then, Trump was shocked to learn that Finland was not a part of Russia two years after he had become President.

In summary:
non mask wearing peaceful protestors moral irresponsibility = shoplifting
Trump's non-mask wearing ra-ra rally: manslaughter.

Viruses don’t go away but the rest of the world figured out how to deal with it. The countries that are still (frank)ed: the US, Brazil, Russia, all tried to pretend it wasn’t a big problem and then that everything was all better too early. Even now most people refuse to wear masks and take responsibility. It’s hardly surprising that things are where they are.

So a trillion dollar economy basically gets wiped out and there are still states not fully opened. Trump stops travel from China gets ridiculed.
He sends medical ships to NYC and it’s barely used. One was also sent to California but haven’t heard much about that。
Simple fact in the United States the governors are responsible for their states. I don’t want any president in charge of everything. That’s not how this government was set up.
