Agreed. However, if said player can hold down that center spot while getting Buffalo closer to the playoff bubble, it could be a bigger win in terms of an overall confidence moving forward.
They need to win now. Plain and simple - Michael Pachla
I get that, my point is that the player you add probably won't. Nobody is giving that player up to pick 7th. |

Im trying to figure out how this is going to work.
Looking around the NHL nearly every team is at or over the cap and has a lot of contracts coming up.
IF the cap slides backwards a little im not sure how teams will be able to afford it. - ImThatGuy
Which makes that No. 7-10 pick more valuable |

I’d honestly let all of our RFA’s go to arbitration including Reinhart. Take your 1 year deals and reasses next off season.
Let all of the UFA’s walk apart from Larsson.
Maximize the $10-15M we’ll have in cap space and pull off a few trades and steal some talent from other teams |

Wasn't limiting it to just the pick. However, the cap ceiling could go a long way in determining how valuable that pick (either by itself or in a package) is |

We have enough left handed shots who can play in the middle 6.
Kapanen and Kerfoot for Risto and Asplund. - Pegullaville
Why Kerfoot?
Are we giving up on trying to find a 2C?
Or putting him at 3C where he belongs,
and moving Cozens & Mitts to the wings?
But then how do we get a 2C? |

It wouldn't surprise me if you were right, just don't believe it should.
Bottom line, If they're going to move the pick, it should be for a difference maker, not a place holder.
You can find those guys without giving up a top 10 pick. |

I agree. Although Buffalo's track record in that area leaves much to be desired
PS. Was hoping No.7-plus could get that difference-maker |

I can certainly understand the frustration and the desire to see the team make progress. Im not even against mortgaging the future for immediate success, but the draft probably isn't the place to do it.
They've got an awkward pick, and less than the standard number of total picks that teams get, which makes dealing difficult. |

If our scouting staff had any brain cells I’d say trade back from 38 and pick up additional lotto tickets. There are going to be some players from rounds 2 and 3 that crack the NHL. |

I’d have to think Stammer, kucherov, point, Cirelli ? If he is referring to forwards. - Pegullaville
Cirelli, that guy who played on the top line and managed 44 points? Yeah hard pass on him. |

Hardly talked about doesn’t mean “underrated”
Every single mock i saw had him #2,
which no challengers for that spot |

I would go after Strome, we have pieces Chicago will take, we just should have never tried to get Kubalik the first time, the only thing know is with Botts gone does that get revisited. |

If they fall past 8 I'd be trying to recoup as many picks trading down from there and 38 as they can.
The gap between 9 and say 14 or 15 isn't nearly as big as people tend to think. |

Just bc they didn’t have a better option doesn’t mean it’s a good idea
A lot of Leafs fans don’t even think he should be a Center
Wtf would we wanna take the SAME RISK at 2C...
AGAIN?!?!
Have we really not learned our lesson??? |
