Mojo is on the books for one more year.
The Sabres need better hockey players. That is the bottom line. - Pegullaville
Yes, we do
But we also have to bring in the RIGHT players
Especially when you consider how you’re building a TEAM
What you’re building is the Sabres after we lost Briere & Drury
Acquiring more 3rd liners & playing them on line2 is a recipe for continued failure |

Every year i think Tampa is screwed & then they figure it out
I like your trade idea
But I’m not gonna believe Tampa makes a move like that till i see it
Hope you’re right though & we can benefit
Jack, Cirelli & Cozens down the middle would be awesome
Especially if we kept Larsson in theat heavy defensive role
Then i think you’d see Cirelli’s points be up more In the 60ish range
Jack > Briere
Cirelli = Drury
Cozens ? Roy/Connolly
Larsson = Gaustad
That’s a Cup Contending Center group right there - jdfitz77
get your boy for the third line
Skinner-Eichel-Cozens
Olofsson-Cirelli-Reinhart
Casey-Bonio-Tage/Johansson

To be clear...
i don’t WANT Bonino for 2C
Just think he’s the best option who might be available if we have to put a “3C” in that spot
Your lineup above looks pretty good to me!
**minus Tage,
but we already agreed to disagree on him |

That's the point.
Sabres have 3 relatively capable 2RhD, an overload at LW and BS at 2C, 2RW, 3C, 3RW.
Use those redundant assets to acquire capable players at those positions of need.
It upgrades the team overall, even if it hasn't optimized each position
Ya 40 pt player at 2C isn't optimal by any means, but better than they have and doable for short-term.
What would be awesome is to fall into 2-OA slot and get Byfield. Then we have a very, very high probably 2C will be addressed nicely between Cozens and him. Limp along until then isn't perfect, but I could live with it - IonSabres

johansen is like david legwand. best player on a crap team for many years doesnt necessarily make you a good player on any other team. - wingz4life
He’s just an offensively talented guy who never became the player he could’ve been
And now,
Johansen is just to overpaid to take a chance that he’ll ever be that guy
Should’ve been a ppg player with all that talent
That’s just not the type of example the kids on this team need |

I think we should be speculating on what Montour would bring because Risto is signed for two more years and I'm not sure they will sign Montour for what he wants. Not to mention as was written in TBN Ralph reportedly likes Risto more.
I don't know, neither one probably wants to be here so it's kind of a flip of the coin except for TBN article as to who Ralph likes better. |

How about we trade both of them for the forward help the team so badly needs? |

I'd say montour's value is similar to his pre-buffalo value.
Late 1st and guhle type prospect
1 of the couple decent jbotts trades. |

People get so hung up on scoring goals.
Florida and Toronto score a lot of goals and each of them were playing musical chairs with that 3rd spot in the Atlantic all year long prior to the stoppage.
Goal differential is what matters. If Kerfoot comes in here and stabilizes the 2nd line and we get 45 points from him and his on ice impact reduces our goals against by an additional 5-10 goals we are in the playoffs.
Mojo puts up his 40 points on the third line in a role much more suitable for him.
Scoring goals is great, we scored more goals than Columbus, Dallas, Isles and they are all in the playoffs this year.
Goal differential is what matters. There are multiple ways to win. We are already a strong defensive team, Kerfoot would amplify that and bring more scoring to our roster. - Pegullaville
Kerfoot was on one of those teams playing musical chairs. Not sure how he'll have a bigger impact on a wosre team.

Cal Foote is ready for the NHL
they already signed Semykin and I heard they really like Alex Green
saves the bolts about 8-10 mil on their cap and gives them a top 7 pick
they are going to have to make a trade like that IMO - homiedclown
Wasn't Foote traded to the devils for coleman |

Goose had seven 20 point seasons and two 30+ point seasons and was a career 56% on the dot. Larry has never hit 20 points, let alone 30, and is a career 50% on the dot.
Larry is Mair minus the fisticuffs, not Gaustad |

But he was guaranteed a spot i thought.
Sabres are garbage.
They also just promoted within for their top positions, no search done.
So things are going well. |

Not according to Lysowski.
He only wanted the guaranteed money. Nothing about a "spot".
I have no problem with the purging of the scouting dept.
I'm withholding judgment on Adams. I want to see who he hires and surrounds himself with. |

My "Spot" comment was in jest to eveyone here saying he was guaranteed a spot on teh big club.
If they were guaranteeing him a spot there is no reason not to give him teh one way deal so the money is the same regardless.
Adams is surrounding himself with people from within. Just promoted the director of analytics and a long time scout. |

I didn't hear about this, sorry.
And that doesn't mean they don't deserve the promotions.
Companies are built on promoting from within. Keeping a well deserving employee happy generally results in good work being done. That organization could really USE a positive working environment, from what we're all hearing. |

OK, but Gaustad he is not. He's closer to Mair or a center version of Matt Ellis. |
