My problem is if Pittsburgh loses. Or Edmonton. Or any of the other teams in the qualifying round that were going to make the playoffs. Those teams should never have a chance at 1OA or the lottery.

No. The top-4 teams in each conference are already in the playoffs. Only the teams that lose in the qualifying round can get 1OA.

The qualifying round could hurt them, since they sucked so bad they should be in the lotto, but if they win the qualifying round they wont be.

I get it, you dont like the fact, the 7 teams didnt have better odds.

If I am in Montreal this year, watching my team play, seeing how bad they actually are, I wouldnt like the fact my team doesnt have a shot at the lottery since they modified the season and the playoff format.

This was by far the fairest thing they could have done. Listening to the morons on WGR as the results were happening really showed how people do not understand how they were doing the lottery.

The qualifying round isnt the playoffs, and those teams that lose in that round should be in the lottery.
