They augment not detract from a case. Granted, these are team dependent, but awards and being selected to play on the highest stage should matter. Why Olympics or Canada/World Cups are a factor.

I'm curious Jan, what do you think about Flower's HOF case then? I mean if Richter gets in, he gets in right?

I don't think so. 300 wins shouldn't get someone in. Granted if he would not have had the concussion issues and a longer career, who knows. I just don't think his stats, as is, are good enough.imo

Stanley Cup win and also a hell of a Team USA career. Probably the best USA goalie after RDP.

I think he honestly could have/should have won the Conn Smyth in 94 over Leetch. JMO of course.

IMO, I think the 1994 Conn Smythe order would be

Leetch
Bure
Messier
Richter

The sports writers certainly agreed with your #1

Richter's PS save on Bure was a huge part of that series.

Leetch was incredible in the Finals, while Richter was incredible some moments and some bad. Particularly letting in an awful last minute goal in game 1

I will say we don't win the cup unless Richter stands on his head. The Bure penalty shot sticks out, but the double OT against the Devils where he had to bail out the team repeatedly also deserves mention.

That being said in same playoffs he was benched for Glenn flipping Healy (and the following year too) and let up the tying goal in the final seconds of the aforementioned game 7. I really don't know what to do with Richter, his entire career was maddening.

I understand why Leetch won it, and I give them balls for not just going with the conventional pick, but after the guarantee game and the fact he himself had 30 points in 23 games, I still probably do the cliche thing and give it to Mess.

All viable points. I just thought when they needed the big save he was there. Really not wrong going with any of Leetch, Richter or Mess.

I guess, I just like keeping it to the stats. Makes it a bit easier.

Not saying you ever said it, but I hate the argument when people will say, "Well how many titles do they have?" There are so many great players in every sport who never won a title. That should never take away from a player. imo

Championships are a team accomplishment, shouldn't add or detract all that much from anyone's case

On tripadvisor the #2 pizza in the USA was Pizza Time in St Augustine. Have visited can confirm its really good and if I'm ever in that area I always make a stop.

I was going to say my favorite NY slice was Sbarro, but I'm not sure how many people in this forum would get why that was funny.

Are you E?

Trip Advisor voted Applebee's as the best steak in Omaha. It's not a reputable source in any way, shape, or form.

I think Fleury gets in, regardless of if Richter makes it or not.

I’m not sure how to feel about that honestly. Guy has been sporadic in his career and was overtaken by Murray during the last Pens runs. I think he’s going to be criticized more than Osgood in terms of just being there. I can see the argument though for his inclusion

My buddy uses yelp so he can remember where the decent places to eat are when he travels. Yelp wanted him to review Applebees and he gave it one star because he couldn't give it zero stars and said it is the place to go for poopty microwaved food and disgusting bathrooms.

For his size Theo was a tough player who was fun to watch. Agreed that he will be criticized and remembered more for the off-ice issues than his play. Still want to read his book, would be great if he narrates the audio version.
A great audiobook is Evolution of a Cro-magnon by John Joseph McGowan because he narrates it. Tough, crusty old New Yorker.

Everyone hates on Applebee's but goes there anyway. I can't say I'm an applebees lover, but I for sure tore up those .25 cent boneless wings when they had them. Also, not a bad place to take a first date since you know they can't break the bank there and I swear like 75% of the girls I've dated love that place for whatever reason.

Only place I see that gets more hate than Applebee's for chain restaurants is Olive Garden.

I watched all the recent replays of the 94 Finals on MSG. Leetch was even better than I remembered him being. Just was everywhere, was on the ice all the time. Incredible playoffs & Finals

Yeah that's another one. Those and Red Lobster etc are like the Nickleback of dining. Everyone says they hate them, but they sure make a crapton of money for nobody liking them. I love going to the Garden with my kid because we both are addicted to the breadsticks, but at the same time I'm not expecting some authentic experience.

A shocking number of women love Olive Garden too from my experience.

You'd be pretty shocked. In my 20s I was that guy that always had to take the first date to a fancy place and I just found that in my experience, in no metric did that increase my chances whatsoever. I've just found out than unless you are taking them to Burger King on the first date, if they like you they like you and the reverse is also true. Alot easier to foot 50 on a first date for dinner and drinks to find out it isn't going to work out than 100+.

Since you live in Philly, stop taking girls to Fogo on the first date lol.

Do a home cooked meal. Everything is right there. And if things don't work out, there is always the crawl space
