All good bro. Contrary to popular belief in here I actually believe in Climate Change as well...just not in the 'brainwashed' sort of way of the media and the UN profiteers.
Stephen Hawking once said that the only thing that will save 'mankind' is the merging of the organic and mechanic and that means A.I. Some crazy stuff being developed out there.
You think Climate Change is an issue? lol..just wait...

Good for Bonnie for sticking to her guns. Vancouver is a very densely populated city. No need to host the playoffs. - golfingsince

Maritimes are opening up July 3rd. After bragging all spring NB is the province holding it back.
(frank)ing doctor.
Anyways, that's cool if we're diligent at the borders. From what i've seen aside from that cluster in the north the other cases have been related to travel without spread.
That means people are isolating. |

I fully agree . Between disease , hate , climate , war and the Leafs we will find ways to make things unbearable here.

Hard to believe the PLayer's Safety First mandate the NHL keep preaching. |

We're getting down to crunch time now.
Larry Brooks has some details on the plan for the return-to-play vote, which will include all players and essentially unlock the 50/50 revenue split in the CBA extension by capping players' escrow obligations, at least in the short term.

Sounds like the players are flexing their muscles now that they've got the league between a rock and a hard place, if this post by Panarin is any indication...

Brendan Bachelor posted this and a few other people. It was always about the money and Escrow.
Carey Price has also weighed in. Stamkos Kane Price and Panarin are weighing in about whether to return or not . All four getting hammered by escrow. |

As far as players flexing their muscles , they need to be reminded they are dealing with Gary Bettman . He has cancelled the season before and he will do it again.
I don't see owners being thrilled about playing next year to a season of empty stadiums. If I was an owner I would answer back to the PA if they want to draw a line in the sand " Fine , we will see you all back when fans are allowed to come back.
I seen a comment that Europe leagues are already being flooded by requests and emails from players of the AHL looking for jobs. |

It’s about time..... the owners need to understand we’re done paying their debts..... you run your team into the ground it’s on you .... if there’s a pandemic it’s on the owners... figure it out it’s not a free ride

Does anyone believe that contraction in the NHL isn't likely to happen over the next few years? |

It’s a real possibility at the worst or more likely relocation. Gary can save face claiming Covid & not lousy locations. |

You have a bunch of top end players making buckets of money that don't want to live up to a CBA that they signed off on before agreeing about how losses would be dealt with.
You also have a bunch of upcoming free agents that are now coming up and telling those top end players to keep quiet they want to have a chance at making big money too. This might be far from over.

The inherent insidiousness of the NHL’s salary cap system on full display. Player with a $11.6M cap hit (salary of $14M) is rightly outraged by escrow. However, a player pending UFA this summer wants the highest possible Upper Limit for the most robust market for his services.
One group of players want escrow eliminated, the other wants highest Upper Limit possible (which will bring with it higher escrow). The salary cap pits players with competing self-interests against each other. Player v. Player...Just the way the NHL likes it!. |

Spitballin like never before...
So the players play hard ball & so do the owners. No hockey til at least October of 2021. Seattle expansion at risk. Hockey is a $5b business that neither side gets. The KHL marches on come join us comrades. The SHL say how swede it is. The NBA gets even more notoriety & lime light without direct competition. Th damage done would be massive.
Who wins? Neither.
Who loses? Both.
Time would be ripe to create a new SuperLeague by who or where idk. National could be dropped since it applies to nothing. The ol boys club gone. The shootout 6’ under where it should be etc etc etc |
