What new TV deal is the NHL going to get? Bettman has been promising this big USA TV deal since he has been commissioner. It's sad when the majority of the TV revenue comes from Rogers in Canada.

Franchise values were increasing, prior to the pandemic. Do not see them getting higher during a Depression. What goes up, eventually comes down!

I have no data on what is going on in Canada, but here in the states the TV contract was worth 2 billion and there are no indications that it was go down when it's negotiated in a couple years. We have no idea of what the number will be now after the pandemic, but I doubt it would go down.

I have heard them complain about escrow constantly since it started, I dont really care either way personally, but this is definitely not the first time I have heard them complain about it

Was over 10 years, but that was signed almost 10 years ago. MLB is a little bigger in the US than the NHL, but the MLB recently signed a billion dollar contract with turner sports thats only for select games and some postseason games. MLB is spread across three different networks here. The current NHL rights in the states are owned entirely by NBC and there's no reason that the next TV contract will go down. All of the other major sports have new tv contracts that are way above what the NHL gets currently, and the rights could go up to 3 billion and the NHL would still be a discount to NBC.
