No, the only way we can win 1st overall pick is if we lose the first round to the Hurricanes. Rangers pick then goes into 2nd chance lottery.

If Rangers win our round against Carolina, we can't win top pick. Toronto would keep their pick if its 1st overall, and Carolina would keep pick if they win first overall.

So confusing, but true..........

I think it would take more. Lafreniere looks like a STUD. It seems close, but when you look at what that looks like in past drafts, it’s
Carey Price and Jack Johnson for Sidney Crosby.
Cam Barker and Blake Wheeler for Ovi.
Alzner and Turris for Patrick Kane.
Stamkos for Bogosian and Luke Schenn. Etc

Some work the other way, like Kessel and Toews for Erik Johnson but it’s rare.

wanting Tony D traded exclusively because of what he says on twitter is just stupid as hell

now, if someone makes the argument that because of Trouba, Fox and someday Lunvdkvist on the right side and that it doesn't make sense to sign Tony D to a long term deal for big money, I can understand both sides of that

personally I love Tony D and think he's becoming a brilliant hockey player and would like nothing better than a new spanking 7 year deal

I just wish he'd shut up on social media, it does absolutely no good, it definitely isn't going to help him get that new big money deal that's for sure
