I see a lot of comments out there calling this system a joke . I don't really understand the anger. No matter what they did people were going to complain. At least now 16 fan bases are excited.

I just think they could have waited to see if their thingy was actually going to happen. I understand they are trying to stay relevant but they do it at the expense of looking silly. I think more people are laughing than they are angry. The NHL looks amateurish.

Maybe – I think with the cap staying flat for the next few years, it's nice to have some cost certainty. Brock is under a good contract. JV isn't going to get a ton of money, but I could see him being the odd one out. However, his skillset is harder to replace.

I thought at first it would be Jake but now think it will be Brock who will be traded for a young RHD which makes Tanev also expendable .
