4th rounder isn’t doing anything to move up from 7th to 8th. Chance of a 4th rounder playing >0 nhl games is around 25%. Chances are someone will reach for a player in picks 4-7 and a top 7 player will fall to 8. If not, Holtz is a great pick at 8 and a new as a RWer, or if you want to go high Risk/high reward draft Sanderson and you may have Dahlins long term partner in a couple of years - turbo044
Sanderson plays left side, so unless you are moving Dahlin to right, I don't see that working.
I love Holtz as their pick...just like Rossi a whole lot more, he can play C or W.
By the way, their are multiple Draft Piick Value Charts that suggest a 3rd or 4th round is the price to be paid to move up from 8th to 7th. Also your guess-timate of 25% for a 4th rounder playing is way overstated...it's more like 10%...which tells me that anaylis of drafts suggest there isn't a big difference in 1 draft position.

Watching Game 7 of 2013 Playoffs; Boston vs Toronto...where the Bruins came back from 4-2 with 5 minutes left to force OT....then the win stunning Toronto fans.
The best outcome ever!

Why do you want Vilardi now ? He's very unproven and jack would probably be done if it ends like casey 2.0 - gerbe75pts
He wouldn't be the only move I made, LA can use some Dman and I think we have a couple we could spare, you can never have enough C, and he looks like he's ready, compared to Mitts.
I read a mock draft yesterday, I think it was Pronman's on The Athletic with writers from each city making their pick ...
1-Lafrenier., Team Placeholder
2-Byfield, Kings
3-Stutzle, Dens
4-Raymond, Red Wings
5-Perfetti, Sens
6-Drysdale, Ducks
That leaves
Rossi, Holtz, Lundell, Quinn, Sanderson, Askarov
With The Devils "on the clock"
You are Adam's (congrats?, I think) do you
- wait and take 1 from whose left?
- call the Devils and make an offer for their 7th which includes the 8th +; where the "+" would equal
A) Prospect like Portilo, Brysen, Pekar, Borgen, Laaksonen
Or
B) 4th Rounder
What say you? - IonSabres
I’m assuming that’s bc u wanna get Rossi over Holtz?
Idk that it’s a sure thing that Jersey would pick Rossi anyways?
They’re already set at 1C & 2C with Hughes & Hischier
I could see them going for a sniper like Holtz to play on one of their wings
Quinn seems to be rising too & looks like another goal scoring RW
If we miss out on Rossi,
I won’t be upset at all getting one of those 2 guys
I like Holtz, but in this scenario I'm calling NJ and offering our 2021 4th , but willing to change to 2020-4th for the opportunity to select Marco Rossi.
If they balk and want more, then I sit and wait...maybe they like Sanderson or Askarov ...I mean, Yzerman took Seider in a surprise move last year, so stuff can happen. - IonSabres
Is Rossi your guy bc he’s a Center?
or u just like him over Holtz, etc

I'd say it would be a waste of an asset to move up even one spot. Take the best of who's available (that is NOT Sanderson or Askarov) and go on from there.

Me neither.
Sabres should be in good shape and maybe Detroit goes rogue again along with Ducks selecting Drysdale if he is available there....causing another good F to fall.
Center options:
Jeff Carter
Trevor Lewis (UFA)
Derek Ryan (him and Skinner played well together in CAR)
Tomas Hertl (for 8th overall?)
Tyler Bozak
Mikael Granlund (7 years 8 mil? ) - chilliard77
Where did this list come from? The land of make believe?

I really like Holtz, but I do like Rossi better...my kind of player in that he has some nasty in him, compete is super high, smart, can skate well, and plays a good 200' game. He would be my guy at 4, let alone if he could fall close to us to make that move I referenced.
Center is a bonus as well, I think having more competition at 2C in the future can only help the Sabres...loser goes to 3C or plays wing...which Rossi and Cozens can both do.
Holtz is a winger as you know, I'd still b.v e very happy with him there too!

U don’t wanna pay Henrique till he’s 35,
but you’ll pay Carter till he’s 38???

You must be Granlund's agent with the ridiculousness in bold above.

Fair enough, and I'd agree with most other prospects...I just like Rossi alot. To me he has the "it" factor which could really impact the team in many positives ways more than just his on ice play.

If Rossi is left at that point, might be there waiting at 8 anyways, could see NJ taking a Winger.
