It does but you nullify the risk of 55 playing 25 min a night.
Henrique IMO could still be a fine 3C for 2 seasons - sbroads24
I get what you and Pachla are saying. But I feel like two separate deals can be made to avoid having to take that risk.
They could probably move Risto for picks, and then deal other assets for a temp 2nd line centre.
the net spend in assets is a bit of deficit but still better than taking on Henrique's contract with so much uncertainty around the cap. |

I thought he had a good season and they like him in his 1b center role - Michael Pachla
Henrique:
1 of 2 offseason trades I actually see the Sabres involved in.
The other : josh anderson |

Is that the league where Berglund is a goal scoring dynamo? Dahlin really showing how good that league is too. The 7 goals he scored in his best year has translated to the NHL. Would be nice if Dahlin decided he wanted to start being a difference maker sometime soon. All bark no bite. Just like the SWEHL. Dude never finished. Would dazzle and shoot into goalie’s leg pads. Move him to 2C and find out if he is Foppa 2.0. Or pack his bags for a 2C. - Hatboro_Swords

He had henrique as a buy out candidate. |

The next two years are basically a wash with risto gone. Two years from now you might be payin big dollars for a 3rd C or a top-six winger with Cozens on tne final year of his entry-level deal developing in a mid-six center role |

cracks me up on how people run on emotion. players arent even picked yet. wings got screwed!!!not really because the bottom 8 teams have a 24.5 percent chance to pick #1 the wings had a 18.5 percent chance to pick #1.
Again, if Rossi turns out to be a 90- 100 pt player down the line for the wings there wont be one person saying man the wings got screwed! |

I mean, you’re still getting an excellent player but the system sucks.
The Sabres have been in the lottery for a decade and move down almost every single year. |

my opinion is the sabres have their two studs. now they need to hit in the second round and beyond. they havent done that and their suffering. |

I personally wouldn’t use the 8th overall pick. Hopefully this is the last time we pick top 10. I would use the 2021 first rounder no question along with a combination of Risto/Montour as well as well as Mitts/Thompson.
I’m sure we can find somebody that could help now |

I’d have a hard time passing up Cirelli. Hertl is risky, I know our blogger agrees.
Personally, if I’m Adams/Pegula, I legitimately ask Eichel what he wants. Seriously. Sounds super dumb, but I need him happy over ANYTHING else |

I agree. I just believe with the situation other teams are in we can acquire talent without using pick 8.
Perhaps I’m wrong. Hertl worries me as he is coming off a major knee injury and needs a contract in 2 years if I’m not mistaken ?
I would think TB would move Killorn, Palat, Johnson, Palat before moving Cirelli but who knows really. |

Done. Give Montour a 2-3 year deal 4 mil and he can be the 2/3 RD.
I want Jokiharju playing serious minutes next year - sbroads24
No thanks. The bloom is off the rose for Montour for me.
If a team really likes Montour and has quality forwards they're willing to offer, I'd be listening and taking the best deal. |

You aren't getting someone like Cirelli for the 8th overall. Hell, you wouldn't get someone like Monahan either.
The best you're going to get is a risk like Hertl, and there's no way in hell I'm giving up the 8th overall with the quality of forward that will be available for Hertl with his injury history. |

Then you add to #8.
They can't keep waiting for these kids.
