More players on the ice!

Just got off a Zoom call with Quinn, who was on the ice this morning. There's also a video of Petey on the ice on the Canucks' Twitter feed.

Apparently they're in 'cohort quarantine,' where they're allowed to see each other as long as it's in small groups but Quinn said there was lots of spacing, even in the weight room etc.

He’s also a much more developed player at this point. But ya he could challenge fanta no problem. I’d love to see hogie get a spot, but it would not be easy for him imo

Is it just solo workouts Carol or do a small group of players work together and run drills ect. ?

I believe it's individual drills for now but I'm not 100% sure.

Really looks like Edmonton and Toronto for hubs cities. No big issues with the safety protocol, but you know how it is, the devil is in the detail. If the NHL and NHLPA have a CBA extension, we’ll have some hockey this summer. If not, it will be difficult. That’s my understanding

Ya the CBA is unfortunate timing with all this. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pushed a temporary one just to get this going

Thanks Carol, great coverage. I was just thinking, if they are truly successful in their bubble plan, what difference does it make where they play? How would increased cases in Los Angeles affect the NHL's ability to play there? Is it that resources that are needed for covid response would be diverted to hockey? It seems to me that Vegas is still an ideal location given the hotel capacity etc.

Couple of pointers tonight. First the NHL signing bonus will be paid as scheduled. 2nd the NHLPA executive board had a confrence m call meeting tonight with players regarding CBA, and updates on phase 3 (training camp) and phase 4 (return to play).

He will receive 3 mil tomorrow. They are also looking at 10 rollback on bonuses as well as escrow. The exact numbers will be determined in the next day or two . Being a long weekend they may only get the actual money after the weekend.
