Sending Loui to Utica saves 1m+ cap space for each of 2 years & only 5m total in real money if not. |

20 % escrow plus 10 % cap deferring means players will be playing next year for 70 %.
Loui in Utica would make 700k for the rest of the year. - VANTEL
But he would have to give up the $3m bonus he just got, and the additional $5 he will make to walk away. |

Whoring around has become challenging with this social distancing. The are opportunities though after several weeks of self isolation. They're chomping at the bit you could say.

The Bruins are one of the best drafting teams in the entire NHL, ya they messed up in 2015 but that doesn’t take away from the great drafting they’ve done for years from poor draft positions. - Pacificgem
I don’t know why you’re telling me that. I guess I should have responded with “my sister has herpes so I might as well get it too” instead of picking on the Bruins... |

With the right precautions, she could still be in play. |

His 3 mil is paid today so take that off the board. There is definitely 4 mil for next year that would be the snag.
It is going to come down to a decision do I want to move to small town NY and ride buses for the next two years for 5 mil less escrow. I think he does play it out. Five mil is a lot to walk away from especially when he will never see that type of money again. |

Don't know about Kelowna but over cast here. - VANTEL
It’s been a crappy spring and summer so far. I would kill for three sunny days in a row. With all this free time because of the pandemic it would have been nice to have some sun. |

It saves 1.1 mil per year but you still need to replace him . The savings are minimal.

How about send him down & if no AHL season he can rot? If a season somehow happens Comets sign enough vets so he sits & rides the bus & watches from the press box. Either way let him rot. Dangle a termination paper. |

His cap hit is the problem, not his salary. - Pacificgem
There are no cap issues. They will be compliant. |

For me it is not revenge or anger. It is about giving his spot to Zack. These contracts will run out and Loui was a huge mistake but I am past that . I want to see new guys like Hoglander Lind Zack and Pod.
Loui retiring would be a bonus but I am not expecting it. Another way of doing it is putting him on LTIR and it frees up his full 6 mil and still lets you bring in Zack. I will leave that to Chris Gear to figure out.

Just play him on the 4th line, or in the press box for the rest of his contract. He’s still a decent PK’er and will chip in a few goals. Who cares what he’s making. |

Why you getting fired up ? Did you get into Marwoods stash?
I am sure you pointing out it his cap hit that affects the cap not actual salary educated at least 50 of us in here. Thanks |

Hopefully this flattening of the cap will control some of these stupid salaries. I hated paying Boeser 5.85 I thought he was in the 4.5-5 range and Contracts over 10 mil are crazy. I think contracts over 8 mil are crazy but that is just me. |
