good take!
Although, I wish Kyle would just retire, take a job with the Hockey Academy, 3 years at $2.5.
It ain't $6m, but it isn't dog poop either. - IonSabres
That's the thing, I know he loves the game, and he plays with heart. But he's not half the player he was, and he is 1 hit away from needing a permanent drool tray. He has made plenty of money, enjoy the rest of your life, why take that chance, especially on a bottom feeder team right know. |

I'm not overly excited about that lineup.
It's certainly a step forward in some areas, but Fast as a 2RW, while Lindholm is 3RW seems upside down to me. I get distributing the scoring, but it doesn't do it for me, and Kerfoot as 2C is a big yawner. - IonSabres
Draft Holtz and know your RW is set if you were to pull of that Lindholm trade, and then use every other chip you have to find that 2C. |

Wouldn't Buffalo be on the hook for that retirement penalty? |

If they draft Holtz, perhaps expand the Calgary trade idea...?

I don't think so, think that is only if they sign the contract after 35 |

If I understand the cap recapture penalty methodology correctly, Okposo's contract is $4M to the 'good' right now.
If he retired this offseason, he would do so right 3 years remaining on his deal.
That would mean the $4M 'to the good' number would be spread out over the remaining years of his deal.
That would turn into a cap penalty hit of $1.33M for each of the next 3 seasons.
Interestingly, if he retires after next season, the cap penalty would be $2M for each of the next 2 seasons. |

Why do we care? Isn't that their problem?
Kidding.
Their Centers would be Backlund, Ryan, and Mangiapane, along with Jakob Pelletier on the way?
They would never do that deal. Only wishful thinking. |

I don't believe the age matters. I believe it applies to all front loaded deals, as it's about cap hit savings. |

They have a young kid playing at the University of Denver, Petterson, he's supposed to be pretty good and say he will be with Calgary next year. |

Yeah, nice to hit on later picks, from what I have read on him, has all the potential to be a a very good 2C and maybe more. |

Buried in the Die by the Blade mock roster link I shared earlier is the little gem below, highlighted in bold.
J Crag gets his wish: No more Larry's!
He’ll step in as a replacement for Johan Larsson who I did not re-sign, along with all of the other pending unrestricted free agents. After some discussions this week with team sources, it appears that the team is not planning to return any of the unrestricted free agents. |

They have some young Center that could fit there, or Lazar, I mean Davidsson and Rusto should be close to being ready. And having a few more players on there ELC would help with the cap. |

from what i've gathered, i don't think davidsson is quite ready...however, routsalainien is a prime target to make the club...apparently he was the focus of the opposition on a nightly basis and took a beating in the process but still managed 43 points (15+28) in 44 games...he played center in finland but maybe he could end up being a third line winger |

if they just let all the UFAs walk it might show that they really mean business this time.. maybe that was the issue with botts he wanted to give everyone an offer to make them stay. |

The spikes are mostly the younger demographic, as they are the ones rioting as well as going out to bars/restaurants. If states are now protecting the elderly, which they failed to do in the beginning, there is no way the death rate will be the same as say Mar/Apr. And quite frankly if in fact the death rate of this virus stays the same or even drops after these spikes we should all be celebrating, but MSM won’t allow that one. - buffalokb
They are awfully quiet about all these liberal states regressing and now shutting down their restaraunts today. |

Ok... but none of them are gonna go see their parents or grandparents???
That’s why this whole let everybody do what they want reasoning is bananas
The elderly will still get infected by those going out & doing whatever
