That’s a fair point
Didn’t realize he was that old
So i guess the questions would be:
1- what’s changed that they like Risto now?
2- is getting younger at that spot worth giving up Lindholm?
For me... it doesn’t make sense - jdfitz77
30 is not old for D man
if you can get him for a 4 or 5 year deal it will be fine

I've read a few saying 2 to 3 year deal short term deals will be prevalent this offseason and next to get players to the point where the cap will begin going up again, and it makes sense.
Also, not old depends on how many minutes the player has played, not just age alone. |

he only has 637 games under his belt
lately plays around 21 minutes a night
never really been on any deep playoff runs
not that they would do it, but if you move on from risto and montour, he would be a nice addition to the top 4 and could be really good with dahlin |

Never said 30 was old, but do you want to be paying a guy until he's 35, if you have a chance to pick up a 25 yr old or 26 yr old. If Calgary wants that fine, I just was talking about the trade and then getting a chance at being younger. |

I wasn't talking about signing Harmonic, I was talking about the trade 39 posted from DiebyTheBlade
Calgary trades
Lindholm
Cond. 3rd
Talbot
Buffalo Sends
Risto
Asplund
Hutton (1mill retained)
And the Cond. 3rd turns into a 2nd if Risto plays 50% of the games and the Flames make the playoffs |

Calgary has 3/4 of there defense either UFA or RFA, even if they resigned Harmonic they still could use a RHD. And if Risto doesn't do it try Montour. |

doubt the flames do that
Lindholm has 132 points in 151 games
signed on a value deal
more power if Kym can swing that trade |

Giordano- blank
Hanifin-Andersson
a more realistic trade is Miller plus for Backlund
or Miller straight up for Ryan
IMO
assuming they don't extend either Brodie or Hamonic, which they have money to do |

Ok... but none of them are gonna go see their parents or grandparents???
That’s why this whole let everybody do what they want reasoning is bananas
The elderly will still get infected by those going out & doing whatever - jdfitz77
Or, or the elderly protect themselves by not allowing others to come and visit them unless they have tested as negative very recently. Ot do we need the government to dictate every God blessed action. |

The delay in getting the test results would need to mean the following:
- Tested and went straight home
- Did not leave the apartment or the house and property until test results came back negative
- That means no trips to the grocery store and zero deliveries, maybe not even getting the mail, just to be as safe as possible
- Test results come back negative, go to the grandparents house with no other interactions with anyone on the way there
- Still wear a mask
How many, if any, people are taking all of those precautions? I'd guess virtually nobody. |

But if Reinhart is not that good like everyone says, that is about the return you should expect for him.
Reinhar,
good enough to get great return in a trade.
Not good enough to play top 6 for the Sabres. |

Cool. If he was such a good 2C. He would’ve been playing 2C a long time ago.
Analytics and eye go together. Like pilut. Analytics were good on him too. And the nhl level he wasn’t great.
So analytics fail ...... Sam is not a center. Sorry to break it to you. - Sabretooth9
So Qualityg of Linemate mean nothing in your mind?
Girgenson, Pouilet, Grffeth, Bailey, etc are such obvious studs.
In a very, very small sample size with virtually AHL or barely 4th line players he managed to produce neutral GF / GA metrics and decent possession numbers given higher Dzone starts.
Interesting take.
Perhaps they should have tried him for say 30 games with NHL talent like Olofsson and MoJo to see what they really had. Side benefit would have been giving good minutes for Skinner with Jack.
Last season, with respect to knowing what we had with Sam rather than assuming and guessing, it was clearly a lost opportunity.
I wonder if Nightengale brings this up. |

Probably wouldn't happen, just going of what they said and another side note, from that article, supposedly they had a trade worked out for Lindholm+ for ROR but Calgary backed out when the Sabres wouldn't pay the bonus. |

I liked your deal from yesterday 39, I actually might even think on giving up next years 1st to try and get it done. Monahan and Lindholm would seriously upgrade this team. |

You know that is the horrible part, heard a rumor that 2 1/2 weeks before the bonus was do that Botts was working on a Deal for Domi+ and the bonus got in the way again, and after in fell through 2 days later Domi was traded to Montreal. |

disagree
you get a middle pair LD, fills a spot on the roster
you get a player picked in the top 10 in yost, which is a 3rd line center with upside
and the wild card in Kaut which could easily become a top 6 RW and is touted to be a great 2 way player
I doubt it happens though
