While I don't agree with everything David Hume espoused, I think he got it right that appealing to reason is an ineffective argument against passionate beliefs. Aside from political commentary being inappropriate for this hockey blog, it is wholly ineffective in changing minds. The only purpose one would have for making political statements in this blog was to cause an argument for the sake of causing an argument.

This applies to both the initiator of the political comment and the respondent who may simply feel compelled to, in his view, set the record straight. Neither will change anyone's passionate belief and neither is appropriate here.

I have read where Russian players have to negotiate out of KHL. If my scouts are sold on Askarov, though, I draft him if he is available at out turn. I do not foresee our AHL guys ever as future NHL #1 material. NHL worthy perhaps so but Askarov is too good to pass on. Even though we need a power forward or scoring forward too from our #1.

Haven't had one in a while but Buona's great too. Will have to check that out. Some friends ordered a Portillo's kit and had it sent to our house for my birthday last year.
