17 forwards
I think the play in round will help see who comes back and not.
I will be honest I hope Jake Zack Roussel and Ferland all have a good series and take this team deep. |

I think they are just pointing out that Seattle will get a stacked team. Of course no one knows what the exact line up will be. - VANTEL
I think there’s a decent chance they have a good team. MAF is a pretty rare get though, kraken won’t be getting a first ballot HOF goalie like vegas did and that makes a big difference. |

Pearson will be a UFA & as much as I like him it’s hard to see him getting resigned.
Boeser is good asset if traded but snipers are not a depth we have. If it’s scoring by committee which is very possibly an option he could be moved.
Again there will be many decisions ahead & surely will create a huge buzz. - Nighthawk
Going to need to wait a couple of weeks. I don't think Boeser was as near as good as he was his first year. There was more than a few complaints about his shot this year.
Nothing wrong with his point production but he looked nothing like the first two years.

Good point other than they are younger. Vet UFA signings are what caused this. Gotta bite the bullet & move some of those out to keep all the kids. - Nighthawk
JB want's his vets to "teach the kids", problem is he overpaid. If there's depth he can move a talented young player for a good return. EP & QH contracts will be coming up soon, it won't get easier for him.

I read somewhere before that SJ will probably expose Burns for cap relief and that would be a hell of a start to Seattle .
Seattle are coming in at a very opportune time with it being the third year of a flat cap. I can see a lot of teams offering to move contracts. - VANTEL
Burns is aging but good for a few years at most. A change of scenery could be refreshing for him. |

He fell off a bit agreed but he also was asked to round out his game more. Adding to that the top 6 got much deeper than it was when he broke in. Still a PP cog. |

Yup & getting more vets like Miller & Pearson & Toffoli makes those other vets more like dead weight. The progress of EP & Hughes sped up the rebuild. |

They had 500 million reasons. It was part of the package when they bought into the league. |

EP and QH need to be paid but I would seriously doubt if they are looking like what TOR did with their RFAs .
I figure they will be in a bridge deal around the 7 mil mark. It is going to be a flat cap for a few years and no one will be paid 10 mil or more.
Edler comes off the books next year and his 6 mil plus QH current 1 mil is 7 mil. Yes Edler will probably come back if OJ is not ready but it will be at a much reduced rate.
Baertschi and Sutter are off the books that will pay for EP. Canucks do have players on the farm that will come in on ELC .
Here is another bold prediction Loui will be bought out this year maybe but definitely by next. Some wizard will post there is no saving by buying him out but there is actually is a2.333 savings for next year that could go towards Edler.

I think one of Jake or Brock gets moved but what we trade for depends on the draft. We have a 50/50 chance at a top 15 pick . Not hoping they lose though. - VANTEL
So say we do trade Brock to the Devils. What do we think is fair value for a 25 goal / 50-60 point winger? Based on the JT Miller deal(1st, 3rd, Mazanac) its quite a lot. Brock's numbers are better at this stage of his career the JT's were, and he is cost controlled. Let's also assume JB has his best hair colour on...lol.
NJ has 3 first rounders this year, 7th, TBD Nashville, and TBD Boston
Lets assume Nashville beats Arizona and Boston goes to the Semis at least?
Those picks would be,
High Teens / Low 20's for Nashville pick
High 20's / Low 30's for Boston
So based on this, 7th is a no go IMO from NJ perspective.
But 1 of those other 2 could be in play.
Would a
BB and a 2nd for Nashville 1st and Ty Smith
or
BB for Boston's 1st and Kevin Bahl
Is this fair for both sides?

I get that but Seattle has 600m reasons to have the same rules. 30 other teams all had to lose a player. Some teams lost good ones others not so much & some gave away crazy picks etc. All in all it’s a minor irk lol |

I think NJ would look at BB and Hughes and be very tempted. Again I go back to if Canucks get a top 15 pick then they will not be trading for a draft pick.

Boeser is younger than Miller & worth the 7th imo. Smith is very good but LHD we are not in need of & he wouldn’t come cheap anyways. There are also very high on him.
There are more than a few trade partners out there & comes down to what JB looks for in return. My guess is a young top 4 RHD. |

Maybe? In my scenarios, the pull of having another nice D prospect is the draw and the 1st is the bonus. Use our 1st for best D available and whatever 1st we get in the trade on best F available. Either of those D in the trade are not far off from playing. Also solves forward glut, albeit a talent and production downgrade. |

The 7th would be very nice, but this is where I agree with Vantel. Just a pick doesn't do it if we already have a top 15 of our own. |

I think it would be a straight trade Boeser for the 10 th over all . It could be made with any team but NJ does have the three picks.
I am not as high on Boeser as most here but also don't want to start a 10 page debate on his value.
I think with Boeser it comes down to can Jake step into the top 6 . If he can't then Jake is the odd man out. |
