How solid is that info? Lee is good, but not THAT good. Last confirmed info I heard before signing was he was thinking about talking to Chicago. - Puckin_Island
Apparently Montreal offered him 9 per after Carolina matched the Aho offer sheet. Yet he opted to remain an Islander for 7 per, which is still a slight overpayment (I absolutely fücking love the guy, don’t get me wrong, but I’d prefer he made 6.25).
As tothe validity of the statement above, all I an say is that multiple sources were reporting such. Take that fwiw.

How goes the construction schedule? Still more or less on course? - Wildschwein
Once work started up again after the shutdown they said they're still on schedule to open for the 2021-22 season....so fingers crossed they're working quick |

I read the rumors of Montreals interest, but never with a $9 mil offer. Most of the rumors came from this really, really soft comment by Sportsnets Friedman:
"Well I do think Anders Lee is a guy who has had a bit of interest. Another team that we don't get much out of is Montreal but I have heard him linked to there... It hasn't been easy to pinpoint it but guys have told me Montreal is going to do something and don't be surprised if he is on their radar."
I watched one media site after the other repeat and distort this 'guys have told me' rumor until it was unrecognizable. IMO, there is NO WAY Lee every sees a $9 mil offer. |

With the schedule shift, I doubt the NHL gets back to a September start for a couple of years. The plan is to begin the 2020-2021 season in December, which probably means a November start for the 2021-2022 season. I think there's a chance games will be played in Belmont SOMETIME in the 2021-2022 season. If the NHL decides to stick with a late December / January season start, fans may be sitting in Belmont watching the Islanders 2022 home opener. |

love the fact they made the ceiling lower than most so the place will be loud and not cavernous like some of the newer arenas in the league. |

I don't think he's terrible, but he has made some errors during his career. He's also had great success turning teams around. I get the feeling Lou is preparing Garth for an eventual return to a GM role.

Yep. Looks like the Mez will be close to the ice too, and set right over the ice level seats. That's a big plus, IMO. Many of todays hockey venues are a lot like small football stadiums, with the mezzanines set way back from the ice. |

Total sarcasm on my part. He’s a HOF Builder to be sure.
Guy has turned the Isles around in every aspect. As he did with NJ and Toronto prior. Many of which fan wouldn’t be aware of.
Garth will never be a GM in the league again. That shows how moronic it was that he had his job for 10 plus years. Those years unfortunately the Isles were stuck in neutral |

Read an article about Boser and does it make sense to trade him.
Do you offer Wahlstrom, Bodie, and Leddy?
