And the reason to keep a potentially 41 year old Weber by the end of his contract, when he can be unloaded next year at 36 ?
- henny1953

Why does no one talk about him possibly retiring early and what Nashville would have to give up to re aquire him to prevent the ridiculous cap hit they will have to eat?????
I personally would do everything to convince him to retire in his last couple of years to put the screws to Nashville.

Mornin', ya bunch of savages. Another GREAT...sleep? (frank) it, I'm a lazy slag, and it's hot as hell outside, sue me.

I'll actually respond to (ugh) Henny since we always female dog that he only trolls, never talks hockey, but he brought up a valid question last night, so here we go...

Habs will hold on to Weber at the expansion draft for a few reasons, especially now. First is that delightfully crippling contract of his. If he retires early, then Nashville gets SCREWED with huge cap recapture penalties. We can trade him back to them for a kings ransom if he gets career-threateningly injured, just so they could send him to Lupul Island for the remainder of his contract. Secondly, he's the closest thing we really have to a physical deterrent on our team. Romanov may take over that role eventually, but he's not quite ready yet. And then there's his leadership. Not just in the room, but the league wide respect for him is real, and that includes with the officials. It's hard to replace with our current roster.

So there has go, Henny. Stop being a tool, talk hockey like you say you want to, and you might be pleasantly surprised. Maybe. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go poop in the shower and waffle-stomp that mofo.

What if Weber retired early, his contract would shift back over to the Preds? Nobody ever thought of that eh?

Not now. Not in the last 4 months of no hockey. Not in the 4 years since the (frank)ing trade. Not since day one of the (frank)ing trade. Not once.

You know what else we haven't discussed? What do you do with Tatar? What about Petry? Sign, own FA or trade. What about Gallagher even though he's a fan favourite. What about Danault? His next contract could be scary to many. Will Mete ever develop offense? Any puns on Folin's name? What if the Habs drafted Tkachuk or Hughes instead of KK? Would Seattle want Price and would he go? Et-(frank)ing-c?

Oh those have all been discussed to death? Well geez...do it again to satisfy the pathetic (frank)ing Henny's of the world

There's just something about Bill Burr's actual voice that bothers me. I dunno if it's because it's just so violently...American, or what. His content is gold, it's just the voice... Can't do it.
