No, I'm researching. Because as you probably already know, there's quite a bit that goes into the goals and assists. That's what that research was for. It indicates that his goal scoring is more likely to be a product of the teammates around him than his own shooting talent.
To answer your second question, Im not sure yet. I don't know who is available and even then, 2RW is not the highest priority. - Michael Ghofrani
He’s not a 5% shooter dude
He’s likely to bounce back with his shooting %
We’re u down on Jack as a shooter his first 4 year’s when he could barely crack 10% ?
Even if Boeser stays around 10%
That’s still gonna be 25ish goals
Why is RW2 not a priority for u?
Seems like a big hole to me |

Johansson - Boss34
I thought the top power play was Eichel, Olofsson, Reinhart, Dahlin, and Ristolainen? |

How about Reilly Smith instead of Tuch from Vegas?
He had his 3rd straight quality season, and he scored only 9% of his total points on the power play.
He only has a modified NTC, he only has two years left on his current deal that pays him $5M per, he's an RW, and he's from Ontario (I couldn't resist adding that LOL). - kingcong39
I’d prefer Tuch bc of their ages
But i do think Smith is a pretty good player
Interesting idea
Again (as always, lol) depending on cost though |

I factored in slightly overpaying as Evolving Hockey did not factor in the current situation in terms of the pandemic and the flat cap the next 2 seasons.
I am guessing Evolving Hockey's projections are higher than what reality will be due to the above. - kingcong39
Maybe I’m being too pessimistic here,
but i doubt that just a “slight overpay” makes it happen with most of those guys
They should get a fair amount of attn from better teams |
|

|
The question about Boeser is, with the amount of damage he does on the power play, if Reinhart and Olofsson are both still on the team, who are they moving off the 1st power play unit to make room for Boeser? - kingcong39
that's what i was thinking |

Seems like jack was setting up Johansson for some big whiffs late in the season.
Probably when olloffson was hurt ☝️
Maybe you go 4 forwards. Sam at the point instead of the side of the net?
Why not add a pp guy though? Our pp should be way better with eichel and dahiln. |

So thats being professional ? Why did they move ROR then ? I'll wait ... and your going to tell me the fist pump was fake to - gerbe75pts
Somebody who can’t stand another player does not take him out to dinner the next time he sees him. Jack came out and said the fist pump was fake, that he and o’reilly played into the public perception That there was a discord between them. O’reilly also said that jack was a great leader and would be a great captain after the trade. If They disliked each other, (a) RORs first game back is noneventful and Jack simply leaves him to himself, (b) o’reilly says nothing about Jack after he’s traded. The reasons o’reilly was traded as as;
(1) o’reillys loss of love for the game speech- a captain simply can’t do that
(2) the team could finish in last with or without him
(3) The way o’reillys contract was structured (all, or most paid as a bonus on 7/1) the Pegulas got cheap and forcesf
Botts to take a below the market return to get him off the books 3 hours before the bonus was due.

I mean, based on how the power play performed last year, how could it be much worse? |

PP1- Jack, Sam, Boeser, Olofsson, Dahlin
PP2- Cozens, Skinner, acquired 2C, Risto, Miller
Something like that would be my guess |

The best I could do as far as guessing at contracts was using Evolving Hockey and going on the high end of that.
With the current conditions, nobody knows how much the upcoming contracts will be impacted towards the lower side instead of the higher side. |

I hear that
Just think it’s gonna be hard to convince UFAs to come here right now
Especially if there’s interest in them from good teams |

Overall, perhaps the Sabres would be best served to focus on top 100 scorers who also received little to no power play time.
Players like Nikolaj Ehlers, Reilly Smith, and Mikael Backlund. |

Well i don’t see that actually happening, lol
There’s be at least 1 defenseman on PP2
So then maybe add Kahun or MoJo or Tage, etc? |

I tried to stay away from the obvious big name free agents and focused more on the next tier, or even the bottom tier, in Craig Smith, Brenden Dillon, and Jon Merrill.
It's also why I focused on trading for under the radar quality players like MacKenzie Weegar and Matt Roy. |

This is a really good post.
Sometimes you like other people in life, but can't work with them. Especially when you both have the same lead and/or leader position in mind. (Captain)
They can be cool with each other, go out for a drink and dinner. Doesn't mean they got along when the played together.
They were in last place. Probably not alot of fun and friendships , dancing around giggling

Totally agree. That horse left the barn a long time ago and isn't coming back.
It's why I said what I did about Jesper Bratt, due to Ristolainen's likely current value. |
