Rather get the 7th rounder back for that trade for Mazanec(sp?), the goalie from a couple years back. - Reubenkincade
So you think Anderson is damaged goods cause he threw his meddle into the stands? |

Edmonton’s Misericordia Hospital is effectively shutting its doors to the public to battle a “full facility” COVID-19 outbreak that has now left three patients dead and another 20 patients and 15 staff infected.

He is obviously of questionable character, with the incident you mention and his wanting out of New York organization.
The kid has done nothing and doesn't seem to be the type of character Benning has wanted. |

C'mon man, that contract was never meant to be played out. If it was there would have been restructuring (in the player's favour) over the last few years.
The real shame about that contract is that after it was approved by league offices it was subject to different rules. If the contract isn't fair, just reject it. Don't punish it later by saying it circumvented league rules, stay ahead of that poop.
The deal would never have been signed, maybe he would have signed a different deal and maybe we would have had to press on with Schneider/FA. - golfingsince
True or not, I believe the story was that the league did warn teams about it prior to them signing these deals. That doesn't legitimize it but if true does put some of he onus on the teams who signed those deals.
I think here was at least one deal the fit the criteria but was exempt because of when it was signed. Lecavalier perhaps? |

The NHL should just admit it's Lawyers fuked up and move on. Teams basically paid the price for pointing this out and we still are.

I'm not saying it isn't fair, but I don't have much sympathy the teams affected, assuming they were in fact warned.
That teams avoid it through LTIR is more annoying to me. |

You've made it awfully clear you're opposed to the NHL starting again, you rarely agree with anything the franchise does, you hate management, coaching staff, most of the players, I can't remember the last time you said anything positive about anything Canuck related, you barely talk hockey and on the slight chance you do - it's usually with very little substance so WTF are you here everyday? - Brooks_Light
Doing everything he can to drive people away from Carols blogs obviously...

I am just showing a cap compliant worse case scenario . Of course they will upgrade .That is a choice the team will make to go shopping, Upgrade .It is a choice , not a necessity..
The thing that surprises me is you do have these prospects that are ready here , but the fans saying no thanks.
For as much complaining that a fan base does to want to collect all these second and third round picks but then they never want to see them play here. Huh. Strange.
I bet though even though we are not going to use them the fans will scream bloody murder for years as soon as we trade one

Yeah, no way this team becomes good enough to be top 10 with a roster that’s weaker than this seasons. |

Fans want to see prospects in the bigs when they're ready.
Obviously the coach we have wants to put in players he trusts.
Nighthawk can pencil in Hoglander and Podz into top 9 rolls for next year, plus 2 rookie Dmen in Rathbone and Brogan Rafferty.
Doesn't mean it's going to happen.
I'd like to see Hoglander or Lind push for a spot next year at training camp.
Not both.
Same on D.
I'd like Tree, OJ or Brogan to push for a role (I have little confidence in the other Comets) to grab that #6 spot.
You can only shelter so many rookies and demote pro's imo

It seems the deal that had the most stink about it was Kovalchuk's , maybe it was his. I did hear that as well but putting it in retroactively and allowing half the league off on technicalities is brutal. It made a mockery of it. |

4 rookies are highly unlikely yes. 2 I can see are Rathbone if signed & Rafferty. Hoglander in tough unless the F logjam is loosened up. Pod May 1st is likely.

4 Rookies is extremely unlikely but that does not change the fact that they are ready now. Out of all 4 will probably only see one of them be a full time Canuck.
They are currency and just like when Madden was used as currency the fan base screamed murder even though we have 3 excellent young centers and would not see action for 3 to 4 years as a bottom 6 player. |

I don't understand your boner for this kid? You got him penciled into every lineup you make lately. Don't get me wrong he had a good sophomore year but The kid isn't even signed and hasn't played a professional game yet. Might wanna pump the brakes there big trucker. |

The problem is, with our F log jam, how do you make that decision AFTER training camp? Lind might be a bit easier to work into a bottom 6 role, but you want Hoglander in the top 6.
So, does that mean not signing TT so you can pencil Hoglander in? I guess it depends on where JB feels his development is at, and if he's ready to step into a role that big.
