The problem is, with our F log jam, how do you make that decision AFTER training camp? Lind might be a bit easier to work into a bottom 6 role, but you want Hoglander in the top 6.
So, does that mean not signing TT so you can pencil Hoglander in? I guess it depends on where JB feels his development is at, and if he's ready to step into a role that big. - NewYorkNuck
This is a good take . I would change one word though. I don't think it is a problem.
We have abunch of prospects that are ready or very close. That is something new for a Canuck fan. |

Not a problem as in something negative, just a problem in terms of an equation: something that has to be worked out beforehand. |

We will have 31 players at camp in two weeks . Benning thinks all 31 players are NHL caliber . I think they are .
If we are lucky maybe one name that wasn't on the radar will stick.
Some of our contracts will expire in the next 1-3 years . I am glad we have replacements. Not something we really seen happen in the Gillis era.

I don't understand your boner for this kid? You got him penciled into every lineup you make lately. Don't get me wrong he had a good sophomore year but The kid isn't even signed and hasn't played a professional game yet. Might wanna pump the brakes there big trucker. - Brooks_Light
I don't think he is ready to step in but the media here and Twitter are slurping him up. They now have him as the number one prospect and game ready if you can believe it. |

There's also a chance he elects to become a UFA.

I have a real concern for that. He wants to be near his brother. I do have a strong feeling he wants to play around the Boston area. |

Yup, if he doesn't get signed within that 3 day window, that's probably what will happen. Either way like RD said we should find out soon.

Nothing you can do. If he doesn't want to play here , such is life. I still have faith in OJ. He is still the one in the long run that should have the higher impact. |

The CBA vote is to be done by 6 pm EST today. According to Bob it is all or nothing. Simple majority wins.
Once it is done teams can move forward. |

I'm pretty sure JB already has an idea. |

He said "We have done what we can do and hopefully it is enough to impress him"
Doesn't sound too endorsing. If he doesn't sign I will feel bad for at least 30 seconds to pay my respect then move on to other options. |

formality. it'll get done. the only thing that will stop this season is an outbreak.
mls just had another team pull out of their tournament due to the number of positive tests.
the nhl just needs to get them into the bubble. seems that the bigger threat is prior to entering the bubble. |

I read yesterday Canucks did not have any players that refused to play. If a player does refuse then you have to respect their concerns .
I think it is a formality also and am looking forward to the return of hockey. |

i think there may be a handful of guys (league-wide) that won't play. i'd be surprised if it was more than 5. |

Fans want to see prospects in the bigs when they're ready.
Obviously the coach we have wants to put in players he trusts.
Nighthawk can pencil in Hoglander and Podz into top 9 rolls for next year, plus 2 rookie Dmen in Rathbone and Brogan Rafferty.
Doesn't mean it's going to happen.
I'd like to see Hoglander or Lind push for a spot next year at training camp.
Not both.
Same on D.
I'd like Tree, OJ or Brogan to push for a role (I have little confidence in the other Comets) to grab that #6 spot.
You can only shelter so many rookies and demote pro's imo - dbot
I think he makes a big push next year. Just a gut feeling but something seemed to click with the kid as things progressed this season. |

He also got a lot of reps in at center this year. He is also decent playmaker . He reminds me of Roussel but with a bit more finish. |

I am just showing a cap compliant worse case scenario . Of course they will upgrade .That is a choice the team will make to go shopping, Upgrade .It is a choice , not a necessity..
The thing that surprises me is you do have these prospects that are ready here , but the fans saying no thanks.
For as much complaining that a fan base does to want to collect all these second and third round picks but then they never want to see them play here. Huh. Strange.
I bet though even though we are not going to use them the fans will scream bloody murder for years as soon as we trade one
You have Rafferty in there twice.
Bed time . Love your neighbors even the transgender ones - VANTEL

A few of the Soccer-diver pansies may opt out...but overall NHL players are warriors!
Let's get to it!!
