Wouldn't. There'd be a very small chance you'd win that trade over time – and unless he was a bust or the Canucks won a cup because of the trade, it wouldn't turn out well.
That kid on an ELC opens up so much. Which is also scary if he lands on a team like Pitts or Tampa - NewYorkNuck
I'd probably trade it for #3, #5 , their 1st and 2nd next year. Even then i'd be hesitant. |

Thankfully Stalock will be coming in rusty also. I think if they can stop Fiala and keep Foligno from destroying our forwards then we have a shot . I also think the longer we go the more confidence we will get. - VANTEL
To me the entire 1st two rounds are a crapshoot. Coaching, conditioning, skill and lucky bounces will all play relatively equal parts, as will the ability to motivate without fans. It will be far more intrinsic. |

Well, ya, but would Ottawa?
2 high impact players, plus a potential lottery/top 5 pick and an early second. That's a lot to give up |

That's what I was saying, it would have to be an insane offer. The kid is off the charts IMO, best winger coming into the draft in a long, long time. Maybe since Ovi. |

I don't want to get ahead of myself but I am really excited for this. Worse case scenario we get a first round pick and we see where are weaknesses are.

It's wide open this year that's for sure. To me that #1 pick is right behind winning the cup in best case scenarios. Maybe i'd feel differently had I not witnessed the team lose in the finals 3 times already. Amazingly, never lost the semis though. |

Edler is the only thing keeping Myers above water defensively, gotta disagree with ya there - neem55
Wasn’t meaning Myers makes him top 4. I meant Rathbone can work into top 4 in due time if he can progress into the role. Other than playing with Tanev young LHD are not a good idea for top 4 on their own merit unless all goes well. Myers will not be bottom 6. Edler 3rd pairing is for for balance & pairing dynamics. |

Win, win situation. Unless we're 1 and done. That pick would be amazing! Would you consider trading it? What would you demand? For me it would have to be a pretty insane offer not to draft him 1st overall. - golfingsince
All true unless NHL shuts down & the play ins are not finished. We get jobbed on rankings without win % being used due to 4 teams in each conference getting in the lottery 2. |

So much will hinge on Markstrom I bet. Tough for a goalie to come in and be dialed in right away. However, all goalies should be pretty rested for a long playoff march. They might need an extra night off early on though. - golfingsince
That would mean our offence would be better to score & beat Minny. |

I’ve thought on that also. Depends on who JB targets with the 3rd or 5th. RHD Drysdale comes into play or an elite F in 1 of Byfield Stutzle or Perfetti. |

‘82 a sad team was the hottest going into the PO’s & won handily til swept.
‘94 a magical run of fun & the best 7 games I’ve ever seen & not being a homer.
‘11 was a huge let down say no more. |

To me the only upside of losing in the finals is that the core is so young. Aside from that, i'd probably rather lose in the semis. At least the kids understand that there's work to do.
I remember watching Marino lose the SB and thinking "no worries, he'll be back a few more times." Never happened. |

I personally disagree with most of the Myers criticism, he is a bit slower than must defense on the team, but in his own zone I like his presence and reach. And he isn't afraid to make a (frank)ing hit to separate puck and player or intimate forwards from having their way in the Canucks zone. |

I hearya. I’m a believer in the PO’s are invaluable experience for a player & the team. Longer the run the better. |

I agree, although in both 94 and 011, I criticized the reffing in both series, I remember Kennan complaining on TV that Canucks got all the calls their way, I knew that the final game would be called the Ranges way, and we all know how soft Vigneault wanted the Canucks to play against Boston. |

I’m very comfortable with Myers top 4. Being deeper on LHD prospects & likes of OJ & Rathbone we need RHD for partnering them. I also see pairings as being dynamic partners for each to offset skill sets. |

The one & only reason I detest how PO’s are reffed. Rules are rules so be consistent. |
