I personally disagree with most of the Myers criticism, he is a bit slower than must defense on the team, but in his own zone I like his presence and reach. And he isn't afraid to make a (frank)ing hit to separate puck and player or intimate forwards from having their way in the Canucks zone. - Makita
I watched Myers quite a lot when WPG was making their PO runs...we'll be happy we have him. |

$6M a year, he's going to have to prove his worth. That's a big FA signing for 5 years, not much room for error. |

Agree for the most part and even I wasn't on board with the signing as his reg seasons have been pretty suspect as he gets older. I'm just hoping he can find some of that PO edge he had in WPG. He used his size to his advantage and we need that. |

I didn't like the signing, even at "the discount". I mean better than advertised but I still didn't like it.
If he doesn't provide that edge or similar helpful experience i'll be disappointed. Even if he does, there's another 4 years of that contract to live up to. It will take another year to convince me minimum. |

I agree, although in both 94 and 011, I criticized the reffing in both series, I remember Kennan complaining on TV that Canucks got all the calls their way, I knew that the final game would be called the Ranges way, and we all know how soft Vigneault wanted the Canucks to play against Boston. - Makita

I worked with a Jets fan, he said the same. He's frustrating as hell during the season after you see his game in the playoffs. But realistically, he plays that way during the season and he spends way more time in the box.

Precisely why they signed Myers to be a defensive factor in the playoffs. The only question that might be open for training camp is who will fill the 5-6 slots. I guess Stecher is favored as one. Who do you like out of all the D coming to camp? |

i'd prefer Tree for the playoffs until he's outplayed by Fatenberg, Benn or any of the Comets.

I don't mind Benn as a 7th Dman. Sure wish it was a one year deal. I said we'd regret the Benn signing, haven't seen anything that has changed my mind. |

Ideally, if Tree shows up and plays well off the hop. But if you factor in Green's deployment, he seem's to stick with what he knows until his hand is forced.

He plays either side which is a benefit.
I’m all for Stecher out Rafferty in. Stecher is gone anyways imo & these PO’s are more important for the next wave if they are in the plans |

Fine.
I prefer Tree.
I can't recall ever being impressed with any of the #6 Dmen from this year.
