Doan was never a top player in the league and arguably never a first liner (although with five 60+ point seasons and two of those in the 70’s I would suggest otherwise) that’s a fact. The thing is the yotes have pretty much sucked their entire existence in a large part due to their crap rosters. So while Doan was never an elite player around the league, for the better part of a decade he was the best player on the coyotes roster by default. From 2004 to 2011 he lead the yotes in points every season. Personally I think that would be enough to put him in the top 5, especially given the lack of notable players outside of that time of the coyotes existence. In the end I understand tanner’s reasoning to keep him out but I’ll be curious to see the remaining 6.
