Can't imagine having to make a living using political baiting because my job as a hockey analyst doesn't get more then 10 clicks per blog
Ooopha.....sad, so sad - rrentz
I certainly see why you refer to it as sad, but apparently it's extremely effective. I don't read Tanner daily, and definitely don't check the comments every time that I do read his blogs, but it seems that every time I do come here it's the same 3 or 4 Trump supporters bickering with him over pretty much the same exact topics. It's like you guys could just copy & paste the conversation from the last time I read the comments. It's actually kinda weird. I know, I know. I'll butt out and mind my own business. But your comment got me thinking, if Tanner's job security or compensation truly is based on traffic and/or comments, then is he sad or just smart? If I knew I could guarantee a certain amount of clicks just by voicing a particular opinion I'd do it too |

What don't you see?? The US response is on par with Brazil who has a president who says his citizens are so strong that the virus can't hurt them. This, as it kills over a thousand a day. Every other country in the world has this thing at least tamped down. So you assume Obama would be as bad as the worst in the world. If Trump isn't somewhat responsible then what is his job? Maybe if Trump put a mask on people wouldn't be shooting each other at the local grocery store when asked to wear one. Maybe if he didn't rush to reopen bars, beaches, schools etc.. The Tulsa rally was a great idea. It sparked an outbreak there. He hasn't spoken to Fauci in over a month. Tell me again about all the lives he's saved, I love that one. - marty555
Fauci stated that he hasn't personally briefed the President in over a month. Fauci is a member of the coronavirus task force. Can you tell me if anyone has briefed the President on anything Fauci has recommended or stated or is the only way the President can get any information from Fauci is to get it directly from him?
The states of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts make up roughly 10% of the US population. Yet 42% of the deaths from the virus have occurred in those states. Can you tell me why that is? If you were to remove the death totals from those states, where would the rest of the US rank in the world?
Why can't we have a political rally for a republican but we can have plenty of "peaceful" protests. Nothing had happened from them, has it? LOL
Let me see, I forgot. We can protest America but we can't celebrate it!

So you would falsely present an opinion just to drive up comments? What would that say about your character?

You didn’t answer the question. - Cptmjl
I find it funny how the experts predicted millions of deaths, and now that that didn't happen anywhere close to the scale they predicted, the mainstream media now doesn't even talk about deaths, but now concentrate on "spikes" while forgetting to mention that testing is being done in a grand scale now. If infections are going up and death rate is going down, doesn't that mean Corona isn't nearly as bad as the Left/Media predicted?
Like Deblasiodueche has said.."parents must decide between their careers or children". He and all others in the Left continue to prove they care nothing about the US citizens, but rather dismantling the best country in the world through fear mongering |

How does one falsely present an opinion? It's his opinion, and if he truly believes it then why not voice it if it's beneficial (drives up comments)?
EDIT: I've given your question some more thought, and I guess someone could falsely present an opinion by posting an opinion that they don't actually believe in just to generate traffic. So to answer your question, no, I would not do that. At least I would like to think that I wouldn't stoop that low. And I personally don't think that's what Tanner is doing when he bashes Trump. I get the sense that hos negative feelings towards him are genuine. |

Let me see, I forgot. We can protest America but we can't celebrate it! - MJL Trump says the US is in a very good place and in 8 weeks will be in a much better place. Fauci says the US is knee deep in the first wave. Trump says 99% of covid cases are "completely harmless". Fauci says 99% survive but the rest are anything but harmless and that Trump misunderstood the statistic. So, evidence suggests Trump is not listening to the task force. Most countries lost many elderly when the virus hit & it got unexpectedly got into care homes. That's why early hit states lost so many. After that, everywhere in the world (except Brazil) saw deaths & cases plummet. The US is the exception and it is now sweeping through the younger population and rural states. 63000 new cases today, a record. Yeah, you're in a great place.

If infections are up at such an alarming rate then why aren't hospitals being overrun again and why isn't death rate skyrocketing?

He is a product of the current education system. An automaton brainwashed to only see the fiction/fantasy he has been programmed to see. Completely unable to see reality/truth; even if it sat right in front of him.
What is scary is how many people are just like him that helplessly dance like puppets as they move from distraction to distraction in the news cycle. |

From Arizona paper (AZCentral) "ICU beds and ventilators in use by suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients both hit new records on Thursday". From Tampa Bay Times today "Florida’s surge in coronavirus cases continued on Thursday, with deaths and hospitalizations hitting record daily levels as the state’s hospitals reported their intensive care beds were filling up fast -- including at Tampa General Hospital, which reported all 105 in its facility as occupied." I assume the death rate isn't going as fast as cases is because more 20 - 40 year olds are getting it.

Yes. So it'll actually go down. What the plan should have been since the beginning.
Reported daily deaths is misleading. Need to look at 7-14 day averages.
This is getting stupid. A lot of people are getting corona, but not dying. Time to panic!!! |

Unexpectedly got into care homes? Seriously? No what happened is that the Governors of NY, NJ, PA and others disregarded the recommendations of the CDC and of the Trump administration and admitted Covid patients into nursing homes and long term care facilities.
I don't know why people don't understand that the actual number of cases is as much as 5 times higher than we know. Many have been asymptomatic and never knew they had it or weren't tested.
What others also don't understand and apparently you don't either is that the country can't stay shut down forever. As President, it his job to promote positive thinking and get the country going back in the right direction or else the carnage will be far worse than anything cause by the virus.
The CDC stated that the virus is nearing the non-epidemic stage. Death rate is what matters. That's way down. Time to start living again.

Almost certainly higher. Way higher.
CDC's Best estimate of the death rate: 0.34%. So it's likely +40M people in the U.S. have had it.

It was a severe issue that needed a targeted response: protect nursing homes and other high risk individuals.
It wasn't the crisis that needed the most costly tactics ever to try and neutralize. Tactics implemented on basically no real information; but implemented on the wave of anxiety from all the karens and tanners. Absolute craziness.
This will have long and permanent negative effects to healthcare systems around the world; that will far exceed the harm caused by COVID-19 by multiples.
Or worse, this will actually throw many countries into further crisis then willingly into communism; new "normals" for everyone to see will be the hidden claws of communism sinking in. |
