Amazing, I know I am looking through rose colored glasses, but it appears the Hawks have more legit NHL prospects on D ( some maybe only as third pair, but still) than they have had in the past 10 years combined. - LAHawk
Yes we have plenty of good young D prospects and some good forward prospects also .Time for a great goalie prospect .And one may just be available to snag with the 10 pick |

Yes. I know that.
What's your point? He's a FA after this extended season ends. If he plays it will be on a new contract with the Hawks or someone else - Rota's Rooter
I could have said further
that ii do not think he is retiring just yet..Some players may feel like the season never really ended and just want a couple months off hockey free. The new CBA done
Enjoy family and being nicely paid before a return to the grind in December
I personally believe that players can be safe and not catch the virus during the playoffs. However if some are concerned someone coughs or breathes on you in an ice scrum, then sit out - I wouldn't - but it is understandable and it is their prerogarive[/img] |

From what I've read, Crawford was the only vet not to attend voluntary practices. I know he and his partner recently had a baby. I wouldn't be surprised if he elects to opt out playing at this time. - Rota's Rooter
Good call, RR. Everyone's situation is different but Hamonic and Posey each decided to opt out because of the desire to protect their families notably their babies. Very honorable in my book. |

... just as long as McDavid and Draisitl don't opt out. The Hawks did pretty well against the Oilers this season - with McDavid and Draisitl playing - it would be even more difficult to get into the Lafreniere lottery if one or both of them don't play.

They do. Obvs some are just normal prospect hype from the fan base but at least 4 of them have top 4 potential. Even the guys thought of as bottom pair have vg value in a stagnant cap. |

Got that right. Consider a blueline with these prospects:
Carlsson - Boqvist
Beaudin - Mitchell
Krys - Regula
Demin, Kalynuk, Moberg, Vlasic
Versus these past prospects:
Barker - Johns
Olsen - Clendening
Dahlbeck - Holl
Danis-Pepin, Fournier, Lalonde, Paliotta
A few of them turned out okay but wouldn't want any of them over what we have today.
Johns is the only one in the group I would reconsider but he just came back from a devastating head injury.
Holl seems to be a late bloomer which is great in the grand scheme of wanting prospects to succeed somewhere. |

I also left out the great Rundblad.
Yes, grave error to omit Jokiharju. He'd be the one I'd like back over Johns.
Also, I saw that the Canes released their full roster and Forsling didn't make it. Forsberg did. |

When you're a loser it's easy to cheer for a team to lose. He should be a Sabers fan |

Return to play schedule is out. Hawks first 3 games on August 1, 3, 5. Game times -TBD
https://www.nhl.com/schedule - boilermaker100
On NHL radio they said the early and late games will be for the play in series, and the middle game each day except the first day will be the round robin games for teams that already qualify for the playoffs. |

Koekkoek. Just comparing the two and not to all D-men, Koekkoek is a better all-around defenseman than Forsling. |

Is death an option?
I take Forsling. He did have moments of solid lay before he seemed to lose confidence or something causing his play to fall off. Special K just is plain bad. Infuriates me every time he goes into a board battles with his stick at his waist. |

Hm, not sure I’d agree with this take.
KK is nothing more than a bottom pairing d-man, but him and Maatta were playing like the best third pairing we have had in recent memory. We’re much deeper with KK being the #6 than we were with Forsling playing to avoid contact.
He’s clearly the most replaceable and will likely be on the outside looking in if Carlsson, Beaudin, etc. prove to be worth not sending down, but for the time being he is more than competent back there. Can’t say I’ve ever felt that way about Forsling. |

Hmm not sure we have any "great" D or Forward prospects Dach is not enough I'll go for the "best player available." |
