Aside from the owners and some of the players maybe, is there really anyone that expects a full schedule next season?

As hockey fans we've been discussing the schedule for years. Even a 70 game schedule might be more realistic. I also like Toews idea of baseball style series during the season. Maybe more days off between eastern and western trips?

Just trying to be real amidst a pandemic. Personally, I think a 60 game schedule might be more appropriate, extended break at Christmas and throughout the New Year. Or just start the season the 2nd weekend in January and play 50 games or so.

Everyone should expect less compensation but that's the new reality.

I thought I read they were playoff rules- go till a goal is scored. Not 100% though

I don't think they'll have much choice but some franchises will go down. A few were carrying big debt going into the pandemic. Low rates will inly take them so far if there's no gate $ and t.v. revenues are cut. Some overhead doesn't go away.

I hear you man. I’m in a small Northern Town, it’s remarkable how dead set against outsiders this place has become compared to the usual everyone “make sure the tourists have a blast” here en route to their fly in camp trips. Can’t blame folks though.

I agree the league might get thinned, crazy to imagine the recent expansion fees paid. However, the top teams are going to feel it most which trickles down to the "shared money". It might not seem like much, but tickets that sell for $250 in one location vs $25 in another adds up over a season. Not to mention lower merchandise sales due to less income among the fans.

I think the top 3 teams are NYR, TML, MTL, then some combination of the other canadian cities and the larger markets in the US.

Is anyone else feeling "meh" about these playoffs?

I want to get stoked and feel like this might be the year for the Lightning, but it just seems off. I really need the distraction of playoff hockey, but I just can't muster any genuine excitement for it like previous years.

Florida is now the global epicenter of the pandemic, people are dropping like flies, Floridians are being phucktards about it, our governor is on the crack pipe, my wife is in a high risk group (immuno-suppressed), and the list goes on and on. There is a testing shortage (still) and thousands of tests per day are going to be squandered on pro-athletes engaging in non-essential activities.

On top of it all, this Cup will forever have an asterisk next to it in the record books. I honestly wouldn't want the Bolts to win it under these conditions.

They really don't like much water. A bit more while they're fruiting or after transplant. If you ever grow hot peppers then water them heavily just before harvest. The water stresses the plants out and the peppers get hotter.

After last year's epic embarassment, I will be rooting for the Leafs to stomp a mudhole in Columbus.

(frank) man we were talking in March about how a startup would be stupid and to just look at a shortened season next year.

Now I think they should have the playoffs in a secure location as long as it's done properly. Could be bringing the league into a safe zone, not a bad thing.

I'm actually for more curious in how the NFL and NCAA are handling it.

It's always easy to say they shouldn't play a full season when you have no $$$ at stake.
THere's no reason not to p[lay during this.

They should have done everything in their power to keep the Bread Man. The Rangers don't deserve him.

You can also let hot peppers get dried out to the point of wilting before watering them and repeat that cycle. Mine always got hot as hell. Then again I was growing Reapers, Scorpions and so on so it was hard to tell.

I don't think he wanted to live in sleepy Columbus. He signed to be in Chicago

3 hours North of me. My wife’s grandparents played a huge part in settling the town, then built the hotel. Lots of family still there. Hidden Gem.

I haul past Pickle to get on the Ice Roads in the winter. Let me know if you end up there.

(frank) the neighbour, good plan

That’s awesome!! My best buddy just moved up there a month ago to be a pilot. He’s a total city slicker and he’s learning to clean fish and be a northerner. He’s always sending me videos and pics of his adventures up there. I just want to go up and ice fish for the winter. I’d need to find work, which seems like it would be challenging to find.

Nobody does. LOL.

Too bad there is a salary cap, the Bolts could have lured him to play on an all-new Russian Five line. Already have Kucherov and Sergachev. Volkov disappoints, but could be a place-holder. Sosunov waiting in the minors. Just need a Russian pivot.

I do find it hard to get interested. Games with no fans is hard to imagine. However maybe I should embrace the sort of wartime spirit of it.

The one thing that would be so awesome if the Leafs won, they'd be the only team to ever win a FIVE round tournament, and then all the people who slag the Original Six Cups could STFU and suck that forever.

I barely water mine, even though I grow them in bags. I actually find that helpful for our climate as the soil dries out quicker. I have 22 grow bags, and they all have either peppers or tomatoes in them.

I have a Serrano plant that is now two years old, and I swear it is a lot hotter this time around. Last year they were hot, this year they are downright brutal. Almost too hot to eat and still taste the rest of the food.

Also have bells, cubanos, and tabascos. I loves me some peppers.
